Enbridge Pipelines Presents $10,000 to South Stormont Ontario Township Fire & Rescue Department – February 3, 2012

CFN – Enbridge Pipelines Inc. Community Relations Advisor, Ken Hall (centre) presented a cheque in the amount of $10,000 to the Township Fire & Rescue Department. Chief Desjardins (right) recently applied for the funding to assist with the purchase of water rescue related equipment.

On behalf of the Township, Mayor McGillis (left) expressed thanks for the generous donation that will assist to enhance the Township’s rescue capabilities.

  1. In the argument for companies to pay more tax, are goodwill gestures like this counted in? Take a bow Enbridge, you are doing a good thing here.

  2. The donation is very nice, and no doubt extremely welcome to the fire department. Of course, it is completely tax deductible — not that they pay all that much tax, now that corporate rates have been reduced again.
    My question is will Enbridge be making appropriate donations to the Vanderhoof and Fort St. James fire departments, amongst many others, which are in the path of their Northern Gateway Pipeline to supply China, and who will have to deal with the spills?
