WARRANT
Cornwall, Ont. – Jessica Joanne Belmore, 22, of Cornwall was arrested on the 07th of January, 2011 on the strength of Probation warrant. It is alleged that she was not abiding by the conditions set out in her Probation Order and a warrant for her arrest was in force. Police attended her residence and she was held in custody until court the following day.
BREACH, ARSON and MISCHIEF
Cornwall, Ont. – A 16 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested following an investigation which commenced on January 8th, 2011. The young person was bound by an Undertaking Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on the offence date, the female attended a city park and started a small fire. Police further allege that she returned home and caused damage to some of the household property. Police were contacted and the female is facing 1 count each of Breach of Undertaking, Arson and Mischief Under $5,000.00. Her name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
BREAK AND ENTER
Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred between 3 and 8 p.m. in the 200 block of Carleton Street. The suspect(s) gained entry by causing damage to the back door of the apartment. Police were contacted and the victim reports that nothing was stolen. Cornwall, Ont. – Paul Francis, 58, of Cornwall was arrested on the 08th of January, 2011 on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that he failed to attend court on the 09th of November, 2010 and a warrant was issued. He was arrested at his residence and released to appear in court on the 03rd of February, 2011 to answer to the charge.
WARRANT
Cornwall, Ont. – Gregory Elden Fox, 59, of Cornwall was arrested on the 08th of January, 2011 on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that he failed to attend court on the 13th of December, 2010 and a warrant was issued. He was arrested at his residence and held in custody until court the following day.
BREACHES
Cornwall, Ont. – Darren Andrew George, 48, of Cornwall was arrested on the 08th of January, 2011 while entering Canada through the Cornwall point of entry. He was bound by an Undertaking Order with conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to Not operate a motor vehicle. It is alleged that on the offence date, the male was operating a motor vehicle while attempting to enter Cornwall. He was detained by a member of the Canada Border Services Agency until the arrival of a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He faces 2 counts of Breach of Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on the 08th of February, 2011 to answer to the charges.
BREACH OF PROBATION
Cornwall, Ont. – Adam Lacoste-Marshall, 18, of Cornwall was arrested on the 09th of January, 2011 for breaching his conditions. He was bound by 2 Probation Orders with conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to reside at a specific address. The male had moved and failed to notify the proper authorities of his change of address. Police attended a north end apartment to investigate an unrelated matter and located the male at his new residence. He was arrested for 2 counts of Breach of Probation and was released to appear in court on the 03rd of February, 2011 to answer to the charges.
BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE
Cornwall, Ont. – Daniel James Quigley, 24, of Cornwall was arrested in the early hours of January 9th, 2011 for breaching his conditions. He was bound by a Recognizance Order with conditions to abide by a curfew and to Abstain from alcohol. It is alleged that on that date, he was located after curfew under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance and was held in custody until court the following day.
BREAK AND ENTER
Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred on January 8th, 2011 between the hours of 02:45 and 05:30 p.m. at a Victoria Avenue apartment. The suspect(s) gained entry through the front door and stole a “PlayStation Move” console and paddles and a Dell laptop. THEFT and BREACH OF PROBATION
Cornwall, Ont. – A 16 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 09th of January, 2011 following a theft from motor vehicles investigation which was commenced on December 30th, 2010. The youth was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on the offence date, the youth who was in the company of two other male youths stole property from an unlocked motor vehicle. As a result of the investigation, the youth is facing 1 count each of Theft Under $5,000.00 and Breach of Probation. The other two male youths have already been arrested in relation to this investigation. The names of the involved youths are withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
WARRANT
Cornwall, Ont. – Karen Ann Stevenson, 48, of Cornwall was arrested on the 09th of January, 2011 on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that she failed to attend court on the 28th of October, 2010 and a warrant was issued. She was arrested at her residence and released to appear in court on the 22nd of February, 2011 to answer to the charge.
ASSAULT, SEXUAL ASSAULT and INTIMIDATION
Cornwall, Ont. – A 17 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on January 9th, 2011. The male was involved in a relationship with a 15 year-old female since March 2010. During their relationship, it is alleged that he assaulted and intimidated her. Police also allege that he sexually assaulted the female. An investigation into the allegations resulted in the male facing 5 counts of Assault, 2 counts of Intimidation and 1 count of Sexual Assault. The male was held in custody until court. His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident and further withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
THEFT UNDER $5,000.00
Cornwall, Ont. – Natasha Major, 19, of Cornwall was arrested on January 9th, 2011 following a theft investigation. It is alleged that on November 10th, 2010 she attended an east end Cornwall department store and stole property. An investigation into the matter resulted in the female facing 1 count of Theft Under $5,000.00. She was released to appear in court on the 15th of February, 2011 to answer to the charge.
CHARGES LAID
(South Stormont) – On 09Jan11, at approximately 8:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a threat on St. Lawrence St. Ingleside, On.
The investigation revealed that when the landlord of an apartment attended his building he was threatened by a male tenant.
The 45yr old male (Charles Roy Collins of South Stormont) was arrested and faces charges of:
- Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Breach of Probation Order
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
HOUSE FIRE
(South Glengarry) – On 07Jan11, at approximately 2:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a structure fire on Thomas St. Lancaster, On.
South Glengarry fire department attended the scene and extinguished the blaze. There were no reported injuries and it is undetermined at this time as to how the fire started.
SD&G OPP officers, assisted by OPP Crime Unit investigators along with the Ontario Fire Marshall’s office continue the investigation.
DOMESTIC INCIDENT
(North Dundas) – On09Jan11, at approximately 3:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Caleb St. Winchester, On.
The investigation revealed that a female and her 30yr old common-law husband were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.
He was arrested and faces charges of:
- Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Assault x3
- Breach of Probation Order
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
(South Glengarry) – On 07Jan11, at approximately 6:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on McCaw St. Martintown, On.
The investigation revealed that a female and her ex-husband were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male threatening the female.
He was arrested and faces a charge of:
- Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
He is scheduled to appear 01Feb11 in Cornwall court.
(South Dundas) – On 09Jan11, at approximately 6:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Second St. Morrisburg, On.
The investigation revealed that a female and her 27yr old boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female
He was arrested and faces charges of:
- Assault
- Assault a Peace Officer
- Obstruct/Resist Peace Officer
- Overcoming Resistance to Commit Indictable Offence
BREAK AND ENTER
(South Stormont) – On 08Jan11, at approximately 1:00pm, SD&G OP officers responded to a report of a break and enter on Jenkins Road, South Stormont Township.
The investigation revealed that sometime over the last month unknown suspect(s) attended a residence and removed a generator and an air conditioning unit.
The investigation is ongoing.
