Cornwall ON – Montreal is winning the games they have to win after the trade deadline, but it was good to see them do it right as they shut out the trade depleted Florida Panthers 4-0 Thursday night.
Lars Eller had 2 points as did Travis Moen. The ice time was spread out as this game was all Habs. One of my faves and hope to see resigned Hal Gill even scored his first goal of the year.
Carey Price notched the shut out, but the story continues to be Toronto who keep their play off hopes alive on the play of rookie goalie James Reimer and some timely scoring.
The Leafs upset Philly 3-2 in regulation time on a game winning goal by Darryl Boyce. Former Leaf Kris Versteeg scored twice for the Flyers.Mikhail Grabovski had 7 shots on goal adding an assist to his point total, and Keith Aulie won a fight against Scotty Hartnell.
In other NHL SCORES:
San Jose beat Detroit 3-1; LA shut out Phoenix 1-0. It must’ve been a full moon last night and some happy hockey long shot betters as Nashville shut out Vancouver 3-0; Edmonton doubled Columbus 4-2; Ottawa defeated Atlanta 3-1; Carolina earned a 3-2 victory over Buffalo in OT keeping pace for the last play off spot in the Eastern Conference; newcomer Jason Arnott made the difference for Washington in their 3-2 win over St. Louis; Jose Theodore picked up the win as Minnesota beat the Rangers 3-1, and Boston edged Tampa Bay 2-1.
Toronto is now 3 points out of a play off spot with 1 game in hand. What do you think hockey fans? Can Toronto nail down a play off spot? You can post your comments below.
you are a failure as a journalist.
