Cornwall ON – Join River Institute scientists on Saturday, July 9 at the OPG Visitor Centre for a fascinating workshop all about insects!
You will learn how to catch and release insects, and practice your skill using a net. River Institute educators will provide interesting information about insects and their importance to the food web. Specimens from the River Institute’s collection will be available for observation.
The OPG Visitor Centre will be open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 9. Insect workshops will take place at 12 noon, 1 pm, 2pm and 3 pm. Workshops are free of charge – sign up for one of the sessions upon arrival at the Visitor Centre, 2500B Second St. West. If you are not able to attend, this workshop will be repeated on Thursday, July 14.
The OPG Visitor Centre also offers displays and interactive exhibits that describe the St. Lawrence Seaway and Power Project construction story and its effects on the nearby communities. Visitors can learn and observe how OPG safely generates electricity at its nuclear, thermal and hydro generating stations located across Ontario.
