I just got the wrap up in from Bonnie Mitchell. Congrats & Kudos from all at The Cornwall Free News to everyone involved for putting on a super event in our community and area!
She:kon and Greetings!
Though the sound of the powerful powwow drum has faded into the past, we would like to take this time to send our heartfelt gratitude to the people of Akwesasne, Cornwall and the surrounding communities who helped make the 9th Annual Akwesasne International Powwow a huge success.
This year’s event drew crowds more of more than 5,000 spectators who witnessed over 250 dancers including adults and tiny tots, 6 drum groups and 7 hand drum groups…. all competing for the chance to claim the title of “Champion at the Akwesasne Powwow.”
