Cornwall, ON- A 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 27th, 2012 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on October 4th, 2012 he failed to attend court and a bench warrant was issued. He turned himself into police and was released to appear in court on December 18th, 2012. His name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY, BREAK & ENTER AND POSSESSION OF BREAK & ENTER TOOLS
Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division arrested two males with possession of stolen property, break & enter and possession of break & enter tools during the early hour of November 28th, 2012. It is alleged that Kyle Shaver, 26 and Philip MacDonald, 43, both of Cornwall, were found in possession of stolen copper wire and possession of break & enter tools when they gained entry to a Marlborough Street business and removed property. Phil MacDonald was released to appear in court on January 8th, 2013. Further investigation revealed that Kyle Shaver was also wanted under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that he was wanted on a warrant in the first instance for possession of a Schedule III drug and a Bench Warrant for fail to re-attend court on June 7th, 2011. He was held in custody until court later that day.
PAROLE WARRANT
Cornwall, ON- Shane Cook, 24 of Akwesasne was arrested on November 27th, 2012 under the strength of a Parole Warrant. It is alleged that on October 11th, 2012 a Parole was issued. He turned himself in to the Canadian Border Agency Service and was turned over to the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was held in custody until count on November 28th, 2012.
THEFT & ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON- Ahmed El Kerim, 31 of Cornwall was arrested on November 27th, 2012. It is alleged that on November 26th, 2012 he attended a Water Street store and removed property without making any attempts to pay for it. The store’s Loss Prevention Officer attempted to detain him when he pushed her. The victim was not injured. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was located and charged with Assault and Theft under $5000. He was released to appear in court on December 18th, 2012.
FRAUD
Cornwall, ON- As a result of an ongoing investigation by Members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Fraud Unit, two more individuals Satnam Singh Purba, 28 of Brampton and Manjit Singh Brar, 42 of Caledon were arrested on November 26, 2012. It is alleged that between March 13 – 15, 2012, a man attended a Brookdale Avenue gas station and obtained fuel by using a reportedly stolen credit card. He was charged with Fraud under $5000, 2 counts of Use of Forged Credit Card and two counts of Possession of Credit Card Data.
It is also alleged that Between March 13, and April 4 2012, Manjit Singh BRAR attended a Brookdale Avenue gas station and obtained fuel by using a reportedly stolen credit card. He was charged with Fraud under $5000, three counts of Use of Forged Credit Card and three counts of Possession of Credit Card Data. They were held in custody and appeared in court on November 26, 2012 for a bail hearing.
Background
In July and August of 2012 nine males were arrested by Members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Fraud Unit after an investigation concluded in regards to a Fraud complaint. It was alleged that between February 2012 and May 2012, the males attended a Brookdale Avenue gas station and obtained fuel by using stolen credit cards. It is estimated that the males obtained approximately $125 000.00 in fuel.

(North Dundas) – On 27Nov12, at approximately 5:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break and enter on Main St. Morewood, On.
The investigation revealed that a female’s ex-boyfriend had attended her residence and removed various items that did not belong to him.
The 26yr old male (from North Dundas) was arrested and faces charges of:
– Break, Enter dwelling house-commit indictable offence
– Theft Under
– Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
– Indecent Telephone Calls
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking or Recognizance
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
