BARRICADED PERSON – AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, THREATS, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE
Cornwall, ON – The Cornwall Community Police Service cordoned off a section of the City as a result of an incident that took place at a Prince Albert Street address shortly after 1:30 A.M. on February 3rd, 2014.
As a result of the incident a warrant was obtained and shortly after 17:30 P.M. on February 3rd, 2014 members of the Cornwall Emergency Response Team entered the residence and took Edward Hall, 44 of Cornwall Island into custody. It is alleged that shortly after 1:00 A.M. on February 3rd, 2014 the man was involved in a verbal argument with a 22-year-old man when he slashed at the man with a knife causing the man to suffer a significant cut to one of his hands. Edward Hall then threatened to kill the 22-year-old man. Police were contacted and secured the area until appropriate resources became available.
Edward Hall is charged with aggravated assault, threats to life and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
