Mark McGwire has finally admitted to being a big cheater; chiefly because he wants to return to baseball as a coach.
Baseball has been the most hypocritical of professional sports. Especially when it comes to performance enhancing drugs.
It’s resurgence because of juiced up players; human beings who’s SKULLS freaking grew sizes; never mind biceps.
Utility players started popping 20 home runs in a season during their heyday and while the cocaine period created stolen base sensations like Tim Raines of the Expos; “roids” and human growth hormones created the Mark McGwire’s and Barry Bonds of the baseball world.
Pete Rose is still on the outside of baseball and all he did was gamble on some games. Players like McGwire, Roger Clemens, and Barry Bonds broke records; some that should still be standing.
I’m not that sanctimonious to pass judgement on the players. They played in different times and I for one don’t for a second don’t believe that their coaches, managers, trainers, and yes, owners didn’t for a second have any idea that some of these guys were “juicing” and I don’t think many fans do either.
What do you think Cornwall? Should anything be done about the records of these “juiced ball” era players?
