Calls for Service

Kingston Police had 154 calls for service during the 24 hour period starting from 5:00 a.m. on October 3, 2017. Of these, 97 calls occurred in the city central area, 24 in the west end, 7 in the east end, and 5 north of Highway 401. Some of these included:

• 4 domestic calls
• 1 assault call
• 3 sexual assaults
• 4 harassment calls
• 2 fight/disturbance calls
• 10 undesirable calls
• 1 custody dispute call
• 5 alarm calls
• 3 neighbour dispute calls
• 8 noise complaints
• 3 missing person calls
• 6 Mental Health Act calls
• 5 medical assist calls
• 13 assist citizen calls
• 1 break and enter call
• 10 theft calls
• 2 shoplifting calls
• 2 mischief calls
• 4 motor vehicle collisions
• 11 driving complaints
• 1 traffic concern
• 8 suspicious activity calls
• 1 trespass/prowler call

There were 7 individuals arrested within the last 24 hours including 4 men and 3 women, between 16 and 46 years of age, for the following: assault, breach of probation, cause disturbance, obstruct police and warrants.

Russell Street Ruckus

A 26-year-old woman of no fixed address was arrested on Russell Street yesterday afternoon.

On October 3 at 3:00 p.m. Kingston Police were called to a Russell Street apartment due to reports of yelling and breaking glass. When officers arrived, a woman swept by them stating she was “outta here”. They told her to wait because they needed to speak with her to see what was happening. The agitated woman began yelling at another woman outside of the building and would not settle down. Officers continued to ask her to quiet down but her volume continued as she swore at them. She was arrested for causing a disturbance. She became un-cooperative and refused to get into the back of the police car. The officers helped her into the cruiser and transported her to the police station.

The accused was transported to police headquarters where she was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The accused was charged with causing a disturbance and obstruct Police.

Woman Charged After Biting Partner

A 24-year-old local woman is accused of biting her partner in domestic incident.

A couple on Rideau Street got into an argument on the morning of October 3 at about 9:30. The argument turned physical and moved to the bathroom where the accused pushed the victim into the bath tub. A struggle ensued and the victim attempted to subdue the accused who was very agitated. She then bit him in the neck. The victim was able to leave the apartment and Police were called.

The accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The accused was charged with assault and breach of probation.

The victim suffered minor injuries.
