Calls for Service
Kingston Police had 378 calls for service over the weekend of June 15-17, 2018. Of these, 269 calls occurred in the city central area, 81 in the west end, 12 in the east end, and 11 north of Highway 401. Some of these included:

There were 20 individuals arrested over the weekend of June 15-17, 2018 including 16 men and 4 women, between 18 and 63 years of age, for the following: two counts of obstruct police, two counts of carry concealed weapon, assault, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, mischief, public mischief, two counts of theft, assault, utter threats to cause death, two counts of public intoxication, two counts of mischief, fourteen counts of breach recognizance, and seven counts of breach probation. Eight persons were arrested on warrants.

To further community awareness and improve accessibility to calls-for-police-service occurring in the community, Kingston Police has merged Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology with police calls-for-service data for user-friendly public consumption.
Officers Arrest Eight Wanted Persons over the Weekend

Kingston Police were busy this weekend with 378 calls for service and twenty arrests including eight persons on outstanding warrants.
- A 48-year-old local man wanted for shoplifting on August 8, 2017. (17-25103)
- A 34-year-old local woman wanted for breach probation from February 21, 2018. (18-616)
- A 33-year-old local man wanted for mischief on March 2, 2018. (18-7568).
- A 54-year-old local woman wanted for failing to attend court on April 9, 2018. (18-12955)
- A 48-year-old local man wanted for failing to attend court on May 31, 2018. (18-20072)
- A 35-year-old local man wanted for failing to attend court, and breach recognizance on June 14, 2018. (18-21628)
Traffic Unit Investigating Serious Motorcycle Collision on Highway 2

On June 17, 2018 at approximately 3:50 p.m. a serious collision occurred between a passenger car and motorcycle on Highway 2 east of the City at the west entrance to Faircrest Boulevard.
Kingston Police, Frontenac Paramedics and Kingston Fire and Rescue responded. The motorcyclist was transported to hospital by ambulance with serious head injuries.
The roadway was closed from approximately 5:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. while Kingston Police Traffic Unit Reconstructionist Officers investigated. Traffic Sergeant Keuhl utilized the Kingston Police UAV to map the scene and assist with the on-going investigation.
Charges are unknown at this time.
Police Looking for Witnesses to Incident of Male Approaching Children

Kingston Police are looking to identify any potential witness who may have information on recent suspicious activities involving an adult male trying to speak to young children.
Investigators are looking to identify and speak to a male that was seen standing near the intersection of Woodfield Crescent and Leyton Avenue in Westbrook at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday June 13, 2018. This male was observed to be a white male, was standing on the side of the road, smoking a cigarette. The male then left in an unknown direction on foot.

Shoplifter Facing Multiple Charges after Turning Violent

A 30-year-old local woman was arrested when she violently attacked store security, after she was stopped for shoplifting.
On June 14, 2018 at approximately 7:15 p.m. the accused entered a grocery store in the downtown area. The accused concealed several items in a bag and exited the store without paying. A loss prevention officer confronted the accused outside the store and identified himself. As he attempted to arrest the accused, she punched him in the face, kicked him, and threatened to slit his throat. Officer arrived and arrested the accused who continued to threaten the victim as she resisted police.
The accused continued to be uncooperative and violent at police headquarters where she was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.
The accused was charged with theft, assault, utter threats to cause death, and breach probation.
Student Charged for False Information of Being Taken Hostage

A 24-year-old local man has been arrested after allegedly attempting to convince his parents he had been taken hostage.
On June 14, 2018 police attended a local post-secondary institution to check on the well-being of a male student. He had been reported missing by his parents after they received a text message demanding a large sum of money if they wished to see him again. The male was not found at the school and the investigation led to a local hotel where he was located alone and well.
The male was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was later released on conditions with a future court date.
The accused was charged with public mischief.
Wanted Man Caught with Drugs and Weapons after Checking Parked Cars

A 28-year-old local man caught after looking in parked cars was found to be carrying weapons and drugs.
On June 15, 2018 at approximately 2:00 a.m. officers responded to a report of a suspicious male looking into cars in the area of Phillip Street. The male was last seen running towards Grenville Park when he was confronted by a witness. Police located the accused emerging from the bushes on the north side of Bath Road.
The accused was identified and found to be wanted for uttering counterfeit money, fraud and breach recognizance from June 11, 2018.
The accused was arrested and during a search officers found a large hunting style knife concealed under his clothing, a flip knife with a glass breaking tool, and plastic bags containing suspected cannabis, and suspected crystal methamphetamine.
The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing.
The accused was charged with two counts of carry concealed weapon, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, three counts of breach recognizance, and breach probation.
