Chris Neil Fight Turns Tide as Comeback Kids Ottawa Senators Turn Off Flames 4-3 in OT – Ovie Scores 2 – Bertuzzi vs Carcillo – NHL Scores – December 31, 2011

CFN – I really really am enjoying the Ottawa Senators this year.   They’re way over achieving, but it’s not a fluke.  It’s character and putting in 60 minutes a game.   And it’s never giving up.   The Sens were down 3-0 to the Calgary Flames Friday night to start the second period when Sens long time heart and soul player Chris Neil took on fellow bruiser Tim Jackman.

That turned the tide and Ottawa clawed back to beat the Flames in OT – 4-3 with Nick Foligno, Zack Smith, Erik Karlsson, and Captain Daniel Alfredsson potting the winner!    Zenon Konopka was 7-0 in the face off circle as well.  The Sens out shot Calgary 49-32 including going 8-0 in overtime.   Alex Auld was relieved by Craig Anderson who didn’t give up a goal helping to make up for being chased out of nets by Montreal.

That’s a hockey game!

In other NHL games Alex Ovechkin and his little friend Alex Semin seem to have turned the switch to on as Ovechkin scored two in the Caps 3-1 win over Buffalo.   The Rangers 4 Florida 1; Nashville nipped St. Louis 2-1 and Chicago edged the Wings 3-2.   Todd Bertuzzi dropped the gloves against Dan Carcillo, after a solid check by the Hawk, but Carcillo didn’t remove his helmet for the scrap.
