Dog Float in Santa Claus Parade! Dog ParK – Cornwall Ontario – October 29, 2009

This just in from the people organizing The Cornwall Dog Park:

Hi Everyone,

We are coming up on the Santa Claus Parade (November 21st, 2009), and we thought there was no better way to showcase our pooches than to put them on a float. So, if any of you dog-lovers out there have a furry friend they want to show off we are looking for ten people and their pets to ride on the float with us and our pets.

The theme we are shooting for is “Christmas around the world” and to that end we would like to have different breeds from all around the globe.

We would also like to see the dogs in costume.

If this seems like fun to to and your dog, please send us an e-mail at or visit us on facebook at; and send us a picture of your dog and your costume idea, as well as contact information (phone number, please).

The deadline for entries is November 5th, and we will have a brief get together on the 6th to make sure all the beasties are compatible. It will be approximately a two hour ride, so we would like to avoid aggressive or over-active dogs. They will have to be under control for quite a while.

But wait, that’s not all!

If you don’t want to enter your dog but still wish to help, we are looking for volunteers to help us decorate the float. If you would like to help with this contact us by facebook or email with your contact information.

Best regards to you and your canine companion!
