Ottawa and Toronto Win – Alberta Battered – NHL Round Up – Tuesday January 19, 2010

Busy night in the NHL last night.   The Habs had the night off but the other Canadian teams were busy.

Phil Kessel scored the game winner as Toronto edged Phoenix.

The Leafs jumped out to a 3-0 lead only to fritter it away.   Jonas Gustavsson got the win between the pipes for Toronto.

Huge night in Ottawa as Daniel Alfredsson notched the Hat Trick, Jonathan Cheechoo and Alex Kovalev hit the netting as the Sens stomped the Bruins 5-1.    Brian Elliot picked up the win.

I wouldn’t want to be a Calgary Flame this morning. The team was totally demolished 9-1 by the San Jose Sharks.   Is Sutter land it’s not good to lose 9-1, especially if it’s your 4th loss in a row.

Craig Conroy ate a -5 for the night while soon to be traded Dion Phaneuf was -4.    It should be interesting to see the fall out from this performance.

Edmonton isn’t doing much better in their race for a lottery pick.

The Mighty Colorado Avalanche shut out the Oilers 6-0.
