Cornwall Ontario City Councilor Mary Ann Hug announces she’s running for re-election – August 26, 2010

Cornwall ON – Cornwall City Councilor Mary Ann Hug announced that she’s going to run again for a seat on council.

I caught up with the candidate this morning, and she shared some of her vision and what’s driving her forward.

It’s all about vision and what she spoke to me passionately about this morning was her vision for our undeveloped waterfront; chiefly the former Domtar site.

While acknowledging that they are of course private lands she’s hoping to see a real revitalization of the property with waterfront condos,¬†commercial, and community uses year round which would attract people to our city; especially with the new low level bridge being fast tracked.

We’ll have more about Ms Hug when we do our candidate profiles starting in September.

Mary Ann Hug was never elected to city council. She was appointed in as a result of the passing of Mr Guy Leger. So your statement is false Mr Gilgig!
