Habs Win Again 5-3 over Islanders – NHL SCORES Thursday October 28, 2010 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – For a team with so many alleged issues Montreal keeps finding ways to rack up the wins.

It’s giving some extra time for Andrei Markov to heal from his injury and giving the coaching staff a lot of opportunity to see who can do what.

Montreal beat the Islanders 5-3.   The Gionta Gomez line was still smelling like last week’s fish, but Tomas Plekanec was +3 for the night with his goal and assist and Jeff Halpern is paying off in spades for GM Pierre Gauthier.

Next up are the Florida Panthers which could leave Montreal right at the top of the Conference standings ahead of the Toronto Maple Leafs who lost Colby Armstrong for 4-6 weeks.

Martin Brodeur gave up 5 goals to the Sharks  in their 5-2 defeat; Chicago beat LA 3-1; Former Hab Dan Ellis picked up the win in Tampa Bay’s 5-3 win over Pittsburgh; Washington shut out Carolina 3-0; and Atlanta beat the New York Rangers 6-4.
