MISCHIEF, THREATS and BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – Jacob Darryle Lee Russell, 18, of Cornwall was arrested on the 07th of December, 2010.  He was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that he damaged household property and then uttered a threat to a worker at his group home.   The male left on foot and police were contacted.  He was located in the vicinity and arrested for 1 count each of Mischief Under $5,000.00, Threats and Breach of Probation.  He was released to appear in court on the 06th of January, 2011.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 36 year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 07th of December, 2010 for Assault.  It is alleged that on that date, the male approached two 10 year-old children in his housing complex and grabbed one of them by the coat and then pushed them up against a wall.  Police further allege that the other victim was grabbed by her arm.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced. The children did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.   As a result of the investigation, the male is facing 2 counts of Assault.  He was released to appear in court on the 06th of January, 2011 to answer to the charges.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victims in this incident.

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred sometime before December 7th at a Susan Avenue residence.  The suspect(s) gained entry by entering through the window of the rear door.  Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a 60” Panasonic TV, another television make and model unknown at time of report and an Apple laptop.  If you have any information regarding this break and enter, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.

MISCHIEF and THEFT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 13 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on December 8th, 2010 following a shoplifting incident.  It is alleged that on the offence date, he stole merchandise from a Second Street department store.  He was detained by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer until the arrival of a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service.  He was arrested for 1 count of Theft Under $5,000.00.  Further investigation revealed that a warrant for Mischief Under $5,000.00 was in force   It is alleged that on July 23rd, 2010 the youth caused mischief to a motor vehicle and following an investigation, a warrant for his arrest was requested.  The youth was released to the custody of a parent and is scheduled to appear in court on the 13th of January, 2011.  His name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE

Cornwall, Ont. – A 41-year old Cornwall female was arrested on the 08th of December, 2010 following a domestic disturbance investigation.  It is alleged that she during an argument with her 49 year-old partner, she threw a beer bottle against the wall which bounced off and struck the victim in the head.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  The victim did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.  The female was arrested for Assault with a Weapon and a search of the accused resulted in the location of drugs, believed to be marijuana.  She further faces 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance.  She was held in custody until court the following day.  Her name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY and BREACHES

Cornwall, Ont. – A 17 year-old youth of No Fixed Address and Stephen Jorden King, 18, of Cornwall were arrested in the early hours of December 9th, 2010.  The youth was bound by a Probation Order with conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour, to reside with a parent and follow the rules and discipline at home, reside at a place that is approved by the Provincial Director and to Not consume alcohol.  Stephen King was bound by an Undertaking Order with conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to abide by a curfew.  It is alleged on the offence date, the males were located in the vicinity of Alma and Brookdale Avenue and found to be in possession of stolen property from unlocked motor vehicles.  The youth, who was under the influence of alcohol, was arrested for 4 counts of Breach of Probation and 1 count of Possession of Stolen Property.  Stephen King faces 1 count of Possession of Stolen Property and 2 counts of Breach of Undertaking.  The name of the youth is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating the theft of a black 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue from the Montreal Road area at approximately 07:00 p.m. on the 08th of December, 2010.  If you have any information regarding this theft of vehicle, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON- John Bazil, 37 of Cornwall, was arrested on the 9th of December, 2010, under the strength of an outstanding committal warrant. It is alleged that his surety was revoked.  He was held in custody until court later that date.

Cornwall, ON- Francis Godard, 54, of Ottawa was arrested on the 9th of December, 2010, under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that he failed to appear to court on the 28th of October, 2010. He was located and arrested. He was held in custody until court the following day.

BREAK & ENTER

Cornwall, ON- A 17 year-old Cornwall young person and 18 year-old Cornwall male were arrested on the 9th of December, 2010 for Break and Enter- to commit theft. It is alleged that on the 6th of November, 2010, the two male entered a Guy Street residence and committed theft. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The young person was bound by a Probation Order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was arrested for breaching his Probation Order and Break and Enter. He was held in custody until court later that day. The male was arrested and later released with a court date of the 4th of January, 2011. The names were withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Cornwall, ON- Richard Lascelle, 46 of Cornwall was arrested on the 9th of December, 2010, for Break and Enter- to commit theft. It is alleged that sometime between the 30th of November 2010 and the 7th of December, 2010, he entered a Fifth Street address and committed theft. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was arrested and released to appear in court on the 4th of January 2010.

Cornwall, ON- A 15 year-old youth was arrested on the 9th of December, 2010 for Break and Enter- to commit theft. It is alleged that on the 29th of November, 2010, he gained entry to a residence and stole several items from the household. The youth was located and arrested for Break and Enter- to commit theft. He was held in custody until court the following day. The youth’s name was withheld due to the provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON- A 46 year-old female was arrested on the 9th of December, 2010, for assault. It is alleged that on the 24th of November, 2010, the female engaged in an altercation with an 11 year-old female and assaulted her. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Assault. She was released to appear in court on the 20th of January 2011. Her name is not being released as it may identify the victims in this incident.

CHARGES LAID

(North Stormont) – On 08Dec10, at approximately 6:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on County Road 32, North Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a 37yr old male driver (John VANBRIDGER of Winchester, On) was in the process of making a left turn when his vehicle struck a Dodge CXT that was at the intersection.

The male then proceeded north on County Road 32 and drove into the ditch. He was found to be operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and arrested.

He faces charges of:

  • Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle
  • Exceed 80mgs / Motor Vehicle

He is scheduled to appear 23Dec10 in Cornwall court.

There were no reported injuries in the collision.

(South Dundas) – On 08Dec10, at approximately 10:30pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Dundas Township.

The stop revealed that the 41yr old female driver (Tracey Pilon of Cornwall, On) was driving under suspension. The female had initially identified herself as someone else but her indentity was confirmed a short time later.

She was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Personation with Intent  – Intent to Gain Advantage
  • Driving while under Suspension

She is scheduled to appear 04Jan2011 in Morrisburg court.
