Cornwall ON – Here is your police blotter for the Cornwall area for Thursday January 20, 2011.

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, Ont. – Jessica Grandmaison, 18, of Cornwall was arrested on the 19th of January, 2011 for Break and Enter.  On November 6th, while in the company of three acquaintances, she broke into a residence.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  One young person and an adult male have already been arrested in conjunction with this investigation.  She was released to appear in court on the 22nd of February, 2011.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 32 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 19th of January, 2011 following a domestic disturbance investigation.  On January 17th, 2011 it is alleged that he attended his ex-girlfriend residence, assaulted her by striking her in the face and then sexually assaulted her.  Police were contacted and an investigation into the matter resulted in the male facing 1 count each of Assault and Sexual Assault.  The male was held in custody until court the following day.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

BREACHES

Cornwall, Ont. – Lori Ann McConkey, 47, of Cornwall was arrested in the early hours of January 20th, 2011 for breaching her conditions.  She was bound by an Undertaking Order with conditions to abide by a curfew and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  She was further bound by a Probation Order with the condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  Police allege that she was located after curfew operating a motor vehicle in the east end of the city.  She was arrested for 2 counts of Breach of Undertaking and 1 count of Breach of Probation.  She was held in custody until court the following day.

WARRANT

Cornwall, Ont. – Randal Swoffer, 18, of Ingleside was arrested on January 20th, 2011 during a routine traffic stop.  It is alleged that he failed to attend court on the December 21st, 2010 and a warrant was in force.  He was arrested on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on the 03rd of February, 2011.

WARRANT

Cornwall, Ont. – Donald Luke Delormier, 22, of Akwesasne was arrested on the 17th of January, 2011 while entering Canada through the Cornwall point of entry.  The male was arrested on the strength of the warrant for Drive while Disqualified, Flight from police and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.  The male was detained until the arrival of a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service.  He was held in custody until court the following day.

WARRANT

Cornwall, Ont. – Brian Anthony Alexander Smith, 38, of Cornwall turned himself in on the 17th of January, 2011 on the strength of an outstanding warrant for breaching his Conditional Sentence Order.  It is alleged that on the 27th of December, 2010 the male did not abide by his house arrest condition and a warrant was requested.  The male was held in custody until court the following day.

THEFT UNDER $5,000.00 and BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – Jesse James Dufresne, 20, of Cornwall was arrested on the 17th of January, 2011 following a shoplifting incident. The male was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that on the offence date, the male entered a Water Street East department store and stole merchandise.  The male was arrested by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer and detained until the arrival of a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service.  The male is facing 1 count each of Theft Under $5,000.00 and Breach of Probation.  He was released to appear in court on the 08th of March, 2011 to answer to the charges.

WARRANT

Cornwall, Ont. – Natasha Lynn Lalonde, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on the 17th of January, 2011 on the strength of an outstanding warrant.  On the 19th of October, 2010 it is alleged that she failed to attend court and a warrant for her arrest was issued.  The female was released to appear in court on the 22nd of February, 2011 to answer to the charge.

BREACHES

Cornwall, Ont. – A 44 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 17th of January, 2011 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to not associate, contact or have any communication directly or indirectly with a specific female and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  He was further bound by a Recognizance Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  On the offence date, it is alleged that during a traffic stop, he was located as a passenger in a motor vehicle.  Police also report that the female was a passenger in the same vehicle.   The male was arrested for 2 counts of Breach of Probation and 1 count of Breach of Recognizance.  He was released to appear in court on the 08th of March, 2011 to answer to the charges.  His name is not being released as it may identify the female in this incident.

WARRANT and BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

Cornwall, Ont. – A 28 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on the 17th of January, 2011 on the strength of a warrant for failing to attend court on the 21st of December, 2010.  Further, the female was bound by a Recognizance Order with a condition to not associate with persons who have a criminal record.  On the offence date, it is alleged that during a traffic stop, she was located as a passenger in a motor vehicle and was in the company of a male who has a criminal record.  She is further facing 1 count of Breach of Recognizance.  She was held in custody until court on the 18th of January, 2011. Her name is not being released as it may identify the male in this incident.

ROBBERY and BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – Michael T. Neff, 25, of No Fixed Address, was arrested on the 18th of January, 2011 following a robbery investigation.  The male was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that on 13th of January, 2011 he entered the residence of an acquaintance, assaulted him and stole a laptop.  The victim did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulted in the male facing 1 count each of Robbery and Breach of Probation.  He was held in custody until court.

THEFT and BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – A 42 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 18th of January, 2011 following a theft investigation.  The male was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that he stole his 34 year-old girlfriends’ debit card and withdrew money out of her account.  Police were contacted and as a result of the investigation, the male is facing 1 count each of Theft Under $5,000.00 and Breach of Probation.  His name is withheld as it may identify the victim in this incident.

WARRANT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 43 year-old male was arrested on the 18th of January, 2011 on the strength of a warrant.  It is alleged that on December 4th, 2010 the male attended an ex-girlfriends’ hotel room and caused damage to the door.  Police further allege that the male made repeated phone calls to the female after being warned not to contact her.  The landlord contacted the male to have the damage repaired to the door.  It is alleged that during their conversation, the male threatened the landlord that he would cause further damage.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was requested for Utter threats to Damage, Criminal Harassment, Break and Enter to cause Mischief.  The male was located at a Cornwall residence, arrested and held in custody until court.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victims in this incident.

ROBBERY

(South Glengarry, Ont.) – On January 17th at approximately 1:24am, SD&G OPP officers responded to the report of a robbery on County Road 2 near Bainsville, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that 2 unknown male suspects entered the building, forced themselves on the employee, searched the building and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The first male is described as caucasian, approximately 6’ tall, skinny, wearing a one piece yellow skidoo suit, a pale yellow balaclava and spoke english.

The second male is described as caucasian, approximately 5’6 inches tall.  He was wearing a black winter coat, dark jeans, black toque and wearing a scarf over his face.  He was also english speaking with a light accent.

OPP Identification Unit and K9 Unit attended the scene. The SD&G Crime is continuing the investigation.

ASSAULT CHARGES LAID

(South Stormont, Ont.)- On January 16th, at approximately 8:00pm, SD&G officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Morgan Road, located in South Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a couple who were co-habitating at the residence were in a verbal argument when the male physically pushed the female.

The male was arrested and faces charges of;

  • Assault

The male was released on a Promise to Appear in Cornwall court on February 1, 2011.
