BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter at adjoining Vincent Massey Drive establishments at 02:30 am on April 21st, 2011.  The suspect(s) gained entry and once inside damaged walls to gain access to the retail establishment.  The suspect(s) stole jewellery and other retail goods.  If you have any information regarding this break and enter, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.

 

 

BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – Nicholas Paul Lebrun, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on the 21st of April, 2011 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by a Probation Order with conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to Not consume alcohol.  It is alleged that on the offence date, the male attended a Cornwall residence and was located under the influence of alcohol.  Police were contacted and the male was arrested for 2 counts of Breach of Probation.  He was held in custody until court.

 

 

THEFT

Cornwall, Ont. – Jacqueline Pink, 72, of Cornwall was arrested on the 21st of April, 2010 following a shoplifting incident.  It is alleged that she entered a Water Street East grocery store and stole merchandise.  She was apprehended and detained by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer until the arrival of a member of Community Patrol.  She is facing 1 count of Theft Under $5,000.00 and is scheduled for court on the 10th of May, 2011 to answer to the charge.

 

 

ASSAULT, THREATS and BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – A 15 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 21st of April, 2010 following a fight at a Cornwall youth residence.  The male was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that during a fight with an employee of the residence, the youth kicked him and threatened to bite him.  The worker did not require medical attention at the time of the incident for his injury.  Police were contacted and the youth is facing 1 count each of Assault, Utter threats and Breach of Probation.  He appeared in court the following day.  His name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

 

BREACHES

Cornwall, Ont. – Laura Ray Michelle Green, 38, of Cornwall was arrested on the 22nd of April, 2011 for breaching her conditions.  She was bound by 2 Undertaking Orders and 2 Probation Orders with the same conditions:  To Abstain from the purchase, possession or consumption of alcohol and to Keep the peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that she attended police headquarters on an unrelated matter at which time a member of Community Patrol made observations that the female was under the influence of alcohol.  As a result, the female is facing 3 counts of Breach of Undertaking and 2 counts of Breach of Probation.  She was held in custody until court.

 

 

BREACHES

Cornwall, Ont. – A 46 year-old Cornwall male was arrested in the early hours of April 22nd, for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by Recognizance Order with conditions to Abstain from communication with his ex-wife or their daughter and to Not be within 50 meters of their place of employment, school, etc..  It is alleged that on 2 separate occasions in 2009, the male attended his ex-wife’s residence and communicated with her.  On the 21st of April, it is alleged that he delivered a bag containing Easter parcels to the attention of his ex-wife and their daughter.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  The male is facing 6 counts of Breach of Recognizance and appeared in court the following day.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victims in these incidents.

 

 

BREACH and CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 49 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 22nd of April, 2011 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by an Undertaking Order with a condition to not be within 500 meters of his ex-girlfriend.  On the 21st of April, it is alleged that he entered his ex-wife’s work parking lot.  Police further allege that the female feared for her safety and retreated to a public area at her place of work.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulted in the male facing 1 count of Breach of Undertaking and 1 count of Criminal Harassment.  Police are not releasing the male’s name as it may identify the victim in this incident.

 

 

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 29 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 22nd of April, 2011 for Criminal Harassment.  It is alleged that he made repeated contact with his 36 year-old ex-girlfriend after receiving warnings not to contact her.  Police were contacted and an investigation into recent events led to the male being charged accordingly.  He was held in custody for court.  Police are not releasing his name as it may identify the female in this incident.

 

 

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

Cornwall, Ont. – Taylor Andrew Bergeron, 20, of Ottawa was arrested on the 22nd of April, 2011 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by a Recognizance Order with the following conditions:  To reside at a specific location and to not leave without permission and to Abstain from the possession or consumption of drugs.  It is alleged that on the offence date, the male was located by police under the influence of drugs.  Police further learned that he had left the residence without staff permission.  He appeared in court the following day for 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance.

 

 

BREACHES, DRUGS and DANGEROUS DRIVING and FAIL TO ATTEND FOR PRINTS

Cornwall, Ont. – Philip Joseph Yade, 20, of No Fixed Address was arrested in the early hours of April 23rd, 2011.  The male was bound by a Recognizance Order with conditions to not be away from his residence between specific hours and to reside with his surety at a given address and to Abstain from the possession of drugs.  It is alleged that on the offence date, the male was located operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner in the area Brookdale Avenue and Henry Streets.  Police followed the vehicle and observed that he failed to stop for stop signs.  Police stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver for Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.  Also, police investigation uncovered that the male was breaching his curfew condition and was no longer residing with his surety.  Police also discovered drugs, believed to be marijuana, inside the motor vehicle.  Further investigation also revealed that the male had failed to attend for his scheduled fingerprint appointment.  The male was held in custody until court.  He is further facing a Highway Traffic Act violation.

 

 

ASSAULT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 24 year-old Ottawa male was arrested on the 23rd of April, 2011 for Assault.  It is alleged that during an argument with his 4 year-old step-son, he struck him in the mouth, causing a minor injury.  The child did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  The male is facing 1 count of Assault and is scheduled to appear in court on the 17th of May, 2011 to answer to the charge.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

 

 

BREACH OF UNDERTAKING and FAIL TO ATTEND FOR PRINTS

Cornwall, Ont. – Bryan Thibault, 24, of Saint Amable Quebec turned himself in on the 23rd of April, 2011 for Failing to Attend for Prints on the 16thof March.  He is further facing 1 count of Breach of Undertaking for Failing to Keep to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour in relation to missing his scheduled fingerprint appointment.  He is scheduled for court on the 10th of May, 2011 to answer to the charges.

 

 

THEFT UNDER $5,000.00

Cornwall, Ont. – Edward Clarence Danny Stepto, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on the 23rd of April, 2011 following a shoplifting investigation.  On the 14th of April, it is alleged that he entered a Water Street East department store and stole merchandise.  The store’s Loss Prevention Officer attempted to detain the male at which time he fled the area.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  On the arrest date, police located the male walking in the vicinity of Montreal and McConnell Avenue.  He was arrested for 1 count of Theft Under $5,000.00 and later released.  He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

 

 

UNLAWFULLY IN A DWELLING

Cornwall, Ont. – A 46 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 24th of April, 2011.  It is alleged that he entered into his 40 year-old ex-girlfriends’ apartment after being warned to not communicate with her.  Police were contacted while the male was in the apartment.  He was arrested by police for being Unlawfully in a dwelling.  He was held in custody until court on the 26th of April.  His name is withheld as it may identify the victim in this incident.

 

 

MISCHIEF and ASSAULT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 16 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on the 24th of April, 2011 following a domestic disturbance investigation.  On the 22ndof April, it is alleged that she attended her 24 year-old ex-boyfriends’ residence and caused mischief to an apartment window.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  On the arrest date, it is alleged that she had an argument with her ex-boyfriend at which time she struck him in the face while the pair were walking on Pitt Street.  Police attended the area and the female was arrested for 1 count of Assault and 1 count of Mischief.  She was released to the custody of a guardian and is scheduled to appear in court on the 05th of May, 2011 to answer to the charges.  Her name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

 

BREACH OF UNDERTAKING

Cornwall, Ont. – Jamie Theodore Contant, 25, of Cornwall turned himself into police on the 24th of April, 2011.  The male was bound by an Undertaking Order with conditions to Notify the Cornwall Community Police Service of any change of address and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  On the 19th of April, 2011 police attended the male’s residence on an unrelated matter and discovered that the male had moved without notifying Police.  The male turned himself in and is facing 2 counts of Breach of Undertaking.  He is scheduled to appear in court on the 10th of May, 2011 to answer to the charges.

 

 

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, Ont. – Carrie Lynn Poirier, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on the 24th of April, 2011 for Break and Enter.  It is alleged that she broke into a Fifth Street West residence by breaking the window sill with a crowbar.  Police were contacted and the female was located in the vicinity.  She was charged and is scheduled to appear in court on the 10th of May, 2011.

 

 

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter at a Marguerite d’Youville residence sometime between 07:00 am on the 20th of April and 02:30 pm on the 24th of April.  The suspect(s) gained entry through a basement window.  Once inside, the suspect(s) stole cash, a box of costume jewellery, a Swiss watch, a medallion and jewellery.  If you have any information regarding this break and enter, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.

  1. After reading the blotter, I can see the argument for alcohol prohibition. Alcohol should clearly be illegal. Look what happens to everyone who uses it. It’s a gateway substance to violence, illness and traffic fatality.
