Montreal Connection Gives Canucks First Win in Second Round NHL Play Off Series – Vancouver Beats Nashville 1-0 – April 29, 2011 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – The Vancouver Canucks struck first blood in their 2nd round series with the Nashville Predators winning 1-0 in Vancouver.

The Predators were limited to 20 shots on Roberto Luongo who recorded a play off shut out.  It seems it’s feast or famine for the Vancouver star goalie.

Chris Higgins scored the lone goal of the game in the second period with help from Maxim Lapierre and Kevin Bieska completed the Montreal connection trifecta.   Lapierre and Higgins are former Habs and Bieska was rumored to become a Hab for most of the season.

The Sedin twins were both frustrated as they notched 12 of Vancouver’s 30 shots on goal with zero points.  That’s not going to happen too often.

Tonight is Tampa at Washington and Detroit visits San Jose.
