Cornwall Jail features Devices of Human Restraint – Seaway Tourism Guide for June 2011

Renay Dixon – Promotions and special events Jim Heritage - Vice president – Board of Directors Steve Santini Biker Rob

Cornwall ON – Historic Cornwall Jail is set to feature Devices of Human Restraint.

Last summer Steve Santini, The Dark Master, shocked and disturbed visitors of the Historic Cornwall Jail with his exhibit “Medieval Torture: Dark Deeds in the Dark Ages.” His exhibit provoked conversations on the savage brutality of humanity and how far we, as a society, have come in terms of punishment.

This summer The Dark Master returns with another shocking exhibit “Devices of Human Restraint.” This exhibit will feature devices of human restraint used in the medical and correctional fields. The devices are part of Santini’s personal collection acquired through his world travels as an escape artist; he has successfully escaped from every device.

This exhibit will also feature a scale replica of a whipping rack, similar to the one used in the Historic Cornwall Jail; the rack is a donation from the Home Depot. This exhibit features disturbing artifacts that may offend and/or frighten some visitors, parental and visitor discretion is advised.

The exhibit runs from May 30-Aug 31st 2011.

Admission Adults $7, Children 4-12 $5, Children 4 and under FREE.

Groups of 10 or more please call 613-938-4748 or 1-800-937-4748 to make a reservation.

  1. Do not think things have changed much as far as human rights go. They have thrown away the whips yup but there are reports of police brutality in all cities in Canada.
