Cornwall ON – The Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce has lost another member and board executive.  Douglass Randlett of Long Sault lost his life in a motorcycle accident Thursday.   He was travelling westbound on South Branch Road and was involved in a collision with a pick-up truck travelling eastbound turning north on to McConnell Avenue.  Police are still investigating the collision.

Mr. Randlett, 56, was a grad of Queens University and Dalhousie where he earned a MBA.

He was 1st Vice President of the Chamber that recently saw Joe Gunn, the treasurer pass away.

Paul Lefebvre of the Best Western Parkway Inn & Conference Centre and  2nd Vice President of the chamber had the following to say:

Doug was a true gentleman and will sincerely be missed at the chamber.   My deepest condolences to his family.

From Rick Shaver, President of the Chamber:

“I am at a loss for words to describe the shock I feel over this unbelievable event, Doug was a friend and business colleague to many of us and a most active member  of our Board. To say he will be missed is an understatement and on behalf  of the entire Chamber, I would like to express our deepest feelings of  sorrow to his wife, Dr. Mary Jane Randlett and to his family.
