81 Year Old Driver Identified in County Road 31 Fatal Collision – Penelope Glenn – and your Police Blotter for the Cornwall and Area – July 7, 2011

 

 

 

Cornwall ON –   Here is an update o the Fatal Collision in North Dundas as well as your SD&SG Police Blotter.

DRIVER IDENTIFIED IN FATAL COLLISION


(North Dundas) – SD&G OPP have identified the driver’s involved in the fatal collision on County Road 31, North Dundas Township.


The female driver of a red 2008 Ford was pronounced deceased at the scene, was identified as Penelope GLENN 81yrs old of Calium Road, South Dundas Township.


The male driver (minor injuries) of a 1993 Ford pick-up was identified as Ronald SPONG of Shaw Road, Mountain On.


SD&G OPP officers, assisted by Technical Traffic Collision Investigators continue the investigation.

FATAL COLLISON CLOSES ROAD


(North Dundas) – SD&G OPP officers are currently on the scene of a fatal collision that occurred on County Road 31, North Dundas Township.


Early stages of the investigation have revealed that a female driver was south bound on County Road 31 when (for reasons under investigation) lost control and entered the north bound lane and into the path of an oncoming vehicle.


The female was pronounced deceased at the scene while the male driver of the north bound vehicle was transported to the Winchester Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.


The name of the deceased is being withheld until notification of next-of-kin.


Traffic is being re-routed as a section of County Road 31 is closed as SD&G OPP members assisted by the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators continue the investigation.

DOMESTIC INCDENT

(North Glengarry) – On 05Jul20, at approximately 8:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Seventeenth Road, North Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 49yr old boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the female calling the police. On arrival police found approximately 118grams of suspected marihuana and 10 grams of suspected hashish.

The male was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana
  • Possession Schedule II Cannabis resin
  • Production schedule II (cannabis marihuana)

He is scheduled to appear 03Aug11 in Alexandria court.

The approximate street value of the seized drugs is $1280:00.

THEFT

(South Dundas) – On 06Jul11, at approximately 8:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a theft on Brinston Road, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime overnight unknown suspects attended a residence and removed a 1997 Kawasaki motorcycle and two chain saws.

The investigation is ongoing.
