BREAK & ENTER ARREST

 

            Cornwall, ON- Taylor Andrew Bergeron, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on the 26th of August, 2011. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on the 26th of August, 2011 at 6:30 a.m. he was found attempting to Break and Enter into a First Street business. Subsequent to his arrest he was found with stolen property and in the possession of what was believed to be marijuana. He was charged with Possession of a controlled substance, Break and Enter with intent to commit theft and Breach of Probation Order. He was held in custody until court the following day.

 

THEFT AND BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- Steven Thomas Coleman, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on the 26th of August, 2011. He was bound by a Probation Order with the condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. He was also Bound by an Undertaking with the condition of Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on the 13th of August, 2011 he attended an acquaintance’s residence and committed theft. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of Theft Under $5000.00, Breach of Probation Order and Breach of Undertaking. He was held in custody until court the following day.

 

THEFT

 

            Cornwall, ON- Jocelyne Sarault, 23 of Cornwall was arrested on the 26th of August, 2011 following a shoplifting incident. It is alleged that on the 26th of August, 2011 she attended a Ninth Street business and stole merchandise. She was arrested by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer and detained until the arrival of a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol. She was charged with Theft Under $5000.00 and is schedule for court on the 8th of November, 2011.

 

Cornwall, ON-Roger Bastien, 41 of Cornwall was arrested on the 26th of August, 2011 following a shoplifting incident. It is alleged that on the 26th of August, 2011 he attended a Second Street West business and stole merchandise. He was arrested by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer however fled the area. He was located by police and charged with theft Under $5000.00. He was released to appear in court on the 13th of September, 2011.

 

Cornwall, On- Amanda Laplante, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on the 26th of August, 2011 following a shoplifting incident. It is alleged that on the 26th of August, 2011 she attended a Ninth Street business and stole merchandise. She was detained by store staff and police were contacted. She was charged with Theft Under $5000.00 and released to appear in court on the 27th of September, 2011.

 

BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- Kelly Robert Cameron, 36 of Cornwall was arrested on the 26th of August, 2011. He was bound by a Conditional Sentence Order with the relevant conditions of Full house arrest, Abstain from the consumption of alcohol and Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. He was also bound by a Recognizance with the conditions of Not to consume alcohol and not to be found anywhere alcohol is served save restaurants. It is alleged that shortly after 8:15 p.m. on the 26th of August, 2011 he was observed by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division to be at a Pitt Street establishment while under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with 3 counts of Breach of Conditional Sentence Order and 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance. He was held in custody until court the following day.

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred on the 26th of August, 2011 at a Princess Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry by kicking in the front door and proceeded to steal pink and gold Bulova watch and money. Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred on the 27th of August, 2011 at a Walton Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry by the kitchen window and proceed to steal money, cheques, a Timex watch with a blue band, Solitaire gold ring, gold ring with a square light blue stone, 12 gold chains, a pendant with a cross and a pendant with a stone in the middle. Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred between the 25th of August, 2011 and the 28th of August, 2011 at a Marlborough Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry by the patio door and proceed to steal a black Acer Aspire laptop and a silver Sony PSP. Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred between the 26th of August, 2011 and the 28th of August, 2011 at a Jarvis Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry by a basement window, proceed to ransack the residence and steal  money, 4 gold necklaces, a gold square pendant, a gold band with diamond, several gold rings, a gold ring with large yellow stone, Nintendo WII with two paddles and 7 Nintendo WII games. ROBBERY INVESTIGATIONS

 

            Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is requesting the assistance of the public for information relating to a robbery that took place on the 26th of August, 2011 shortly prior to 6:00 p.m. on Gloucester Street near Fifth Street. It is alleged the female victim was walking when a male come from behind and grabbed her purse. The male fled the area on foot. The female was not injured. The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, between 25-30 years old, slim build, between 5’8” and 5’10”, short fair colored hair which was spiked or unkempt in the front. Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is requesting the assistance of the public for information relating to a robbery that took place on the 27th of August, 2011 shortly prior to 2:00 a.m. on Pitt Street near Twelfth Street. It is alleged the male victim was walking when he was approached by three males. The males grabbed the victims cell phone and threw it to the ground. The males requested money and leave the area on foot. The male victim was not injured. The suspects were described as between 19 and 20 years old. The first male, who had grabbed the cell phone, was described as being approximately 6 feet tall, pimples on his face wearing a white t-shirt, a blue pair of jeans and black shoes.  The second male was approximately 5’8″ wearing a black hooded sweater and blue jeans.  The third male was approximately 5’9″ wearing a red baseball cap with a black t-shirt and blue jeans. Should you have any information concerning this incident, please contact Detective Constable Robert Archambault at613-932-2110 ext. 2470 or Crime Stoppers at 613-937-8477.

 

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF & BREACH

           

            Cornwall, ON- A 28 year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 27th of August, 2011. The male as bound by a Recognizance with the conditions of Not to associate or communicate directly or indirectly with a certain female, not to attend 100 meters of her residence and not to be found within 100 meters of the female of her mother. It is alleged that on the 27th of August, 2011 at approximately 4:00 a.m. the male attended his 31 year-old girlfriend’s residence when they entered into an altercation. He proceeded to throw the victim’s cell phone against the stove shattering it. Police were contacted and an investigation followed.  He was located and charged with Domestic Mischief and 3 counts of Breach of Recognizance. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

BREACHES & FAIL TO ATTEND

 

            Cornwall, ON- Laura Pauline St.Louis, 29 of Cornwall was arrested on the 26th of August, 2011. She was bound by two Undertaking, the first with the conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and the second to Notify the Cornwall Police in writing of any change of address within 24 hours. It is alleged that on the 26th of August, 2011 she failed to attend for fingerprints. Further investigation revealed that she failed to notify a change of address. She was located and charged with Fail to Appear and 2 counts of Undertaking. She was held in custody until court the following day.

 

DOMESTIC BREACHES

 

Cornwall, ON- A 42 year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 27th of August, 2011. He was bound by a Recognizance with the relevant conditions not to associate or communicate directly or indirectly with certain people and not to attend at or within 250 meters of their residence. It is alleged that on the 12th of August, 2011 the male was observed at the said residence and had contact with the said persons. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was located and charged with 3 counts of Breach of Recognizance. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

 

DOMESTIC THREATS

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 22 year-old St.Andrews man was arrested on the 27th of August, 2011. It is alleged that between the 26th of August and the 27th of August, 2011 he damaged his 18 year-old ex-girlfriend’s vehicle.  Police were contacted and further investigation revealed that on the 15th of August, 2011 the male uttered threats to cause damaged to her vehicle and to kill her dog. The male was located and charged with Utter Threat to damage property and Utter Threat to Damage Injure Animal. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

WARRANT

 

            Cornwall, ON- Christian Claude Seguin, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on the 28th of August, 2011 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on the 22nd of August, 2011 a Probation Office Warrant was sought. He was located and held in custody until court the following day.

 

HOME INVASION

 

            Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is requesting the assistance of the public for information relating to a Home Invasion/Robbery that took place on the 28th of August, 2011 shortly prior to 8:00 p.m. at a Adolphus Street residence. It is alleged two males entered the residence, one holding a knife and the other a baseball bat and demanded money and prescription pills. The victims were not injured. The suspects stole money, a silver ring and a blue Toshiba laptop and fled the area on foot. The suspects were described as Caucasian, mid 20’s, slim build and approximately 5’8” to 5’9”. The first male was wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans, a grey mask, dark eyes holding a fishing or kitchen knife. The second male was wearing a brown coat, blue jeans, dark shoes, a grey mask, dark eyes holding a red baseball bat. ATTEMPT THEFT & BREACH OF PROBATION

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 15 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 30th of August, 2011. The youth was bound by two Probation Orders, the first with the conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and not to associate directly or indirectly with a certain person. The second Probation Order had the relevant condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on the 3rd of August, 2011 the youth was observed by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service- Street Crime Unit to enter a vehicle and attempt theft. The youth was charged with Attempt theft and 3 counts of breach of Probation Order. The youth was released to an adult to appear in court on the 15th of Aeptember, 2011. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

BREAK & ENTER

 

             Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred between midnight and 5:00 a.m. on the 30th of August, 2011 at a Meadowvale Crescent garage. The suspect(s) gained entry to the garage by an unlocked door and proceeded to steal a black Giovanni 100CC mini All Terrain Vehicle, a Atolis battery pack and a fish finder. Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred on the 30th of August, 2011 at a First Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry by opening a window and unlocking the side door. They proceeded to steal money and several DVD’s. BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

            Cornwall, ON- A 17 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 31st of August, 2011. The youth was bound by a Recognizance with the condition to sign in at the Cornwall Community Police Service Headquarters every Wednesday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. It is alleged that the youth failed to attend between the assigned times. He was charged with Breach of Recognizance and released to an adult to appear in court on the 15th of September, 2011. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

ASSAULT & THREATS

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 43 year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 1st of September, 2011. It is alleged that on the 12th of August, 2011 the man entered into an altercation with his girlfriend’s daughters 19 year-old boyfriend when he assaulted and threaten him. The victim did not suffer any injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The man was charged with Assault and Utter to Cause Bodily Harm. He was released to appear in court on the 13th of September, 2011. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

IMPAIRED OPERATION & OVER .80

 

            Cornwall, ON- Charles Cole, 42 of Cornwall was arrested in the early hours of September 1st, 2011. It is alleged that he operated a motor vehicle on Ellen Street while under the influence of alcohol. The was male was charged with Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle and transported for further testing which resilted in a charge of Over .80. He was released to appear in court on the 13th of September, 2011 to answer to the charges.

DISTRACTED DRIVING CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH

(Smiths Falls, Ontario) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Eastern Region would like to remind everyone that safety is everyone’s responsibility.

In 2010, the OPP in East Region investigated 32 fatal crashes between January 1 and August 30. As a result, 33 people died; 10 for not wearing a seatbelt properly, 4 from being ejected from the vehicle and 2 from alcohol consumption.

In 2011, between January 1 and August 30, 38 people have died in 35 fatal crashes; ten (10) can be attributed to improper seatbelt usage resulting in 6 people being ejected and 6 collisions where alcohol consumption was a factor.

Distracted driving is a major factor in many of these collisions.  Drivers need to PAY ATTENTION!

The last long weekend of summer is upon us and drivers can expect heavily congested roadways as parents and students get ready to return to school. Only you can ensure your safety and the safety of your loved ones. Focus on driving!

THEFT

(South Glengarry) –  On 31Aug11, at approximately 1:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a theft on Fraser Road, South Glengarry Township.The investigation revealed that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) attended a marina and removed a Sea Doo and trailer.The investigation is ongoing.


DOMESTIC INCIDENT

(South Stormont) – On 30Aug11, at approximately 11:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Brunet Road, South Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a 21yr old male had threatened his ex-common law wife.

He was arrested faces charges of:

  • Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Criminal Harassment – Repeatedly Communicate with

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.

BREACHED CONDITIONS

(South Dundas) – On 30Aug11, at approximately 2:00pm, SD&G OPP had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Carraway Crescent, Morrisburg On.

The stop revealed that the 23yr old male was breaching his earlier release conditions. The male also was in possession (small amount) of suspected marihuana.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana
  • Fail to Comply – Undertaking before Officer in Charge

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
