Leafs Fall 5-1 to Panthers in Toronto – Habs Lose 3-1 to Oilers – NHL SCORES – November 9, 2011

CFN –  Generally when you do a lot of things right you win.    Out shoot your opponent, check.   Win most of the face offs, check.   Montreal out shot Edmonton 29-14 and lost 3-1 in Oil Town last night.

The right people for Montreal were active, but sadly Carey Price allowed 3 pucks to enter his net while his team only scored one.   Montreal has now lost two in a row.   Maybe Price is pooped as he’s carried a huge load this year?  Maybe it’s time for Peter Budaj to give Mr. Price a well deserved night off?

In other NHL scores Dallas humbled Washington 5-2; Buffalo out lasted Winnipeg 6-5.   Leaf fans can’t be happy as they lost again, this time 5-1 to the Panthers at home.  Marty Brodeur had another good outing and earned a win in New Jersey’s 3-2 victory over Carolina;  Detroit 5-2 over Colorado.

The St. Louis Blues helped Jaroslav Halak earn a shut out in their 3-0 win over Chicago with Halak kicking out 29 shots from the high octane Hawk offense.

Minnesota shut out Calgary 3-0 and LA edged Nashville 4-3.

Montreal wakes up this morning in 14th place in the Eastern Conference.  The Leafs, whose fans booed them loudly are still second.  Edmonton is in 2nd place in the Western Conference.

So hockey fans, are the Leafs and Oilers for real this season?  You can post your comments below.
