FRAUD & BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- Joshua Deevy, 27 of Peterborough was arrested on the 18th of November, 2011. He was bound by Recognizance with conditions of curfew of 10:00 pm to 600 am at his residence in Peterborough, Ontario and keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 18th of November, 2011 he fraudulently obtained transportation by failing to pay. He was charged with transportation fraud and 2 counts of breach of Recognizance. He was released to appear in court on the 1st of December, 2011.

 

ASSAULT WITH WEAPON< POSSESSION OF WEAPON DANGEROUS AND CARRY CONCEALED WEAPON

 

Cornwall, ON- Kyle Delorme, 18 of Cornwall was arrested on the 18th of November, 2011. It is alleged that on the 16th of November, 2011 he pulled a knife on a 42 year-old male stranger. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous purpose and carry concealed weapon. He was released to appear in court on the 1st of December, 2011.

 

CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE CAUSE BODILY HARM, FAIL TO PROVIDE NECESSITIES OF LIFE TO A CHILD

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 31 year-old female and a 31 year-old male both of Cornwall were arrested on the 19th of November, 2011. It is alleged that for the past several months they failed to provide the necessities of life for their 2 children. The children were transported to hospital for medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. They were both subsequently charged with criminal negligence cause bodily harm and fail to provide the necessities of life to a child. It was also alleged that the female assaulted a child with a weapon. She was also charged with assault with a weapon. They were both held in custody until court the following day. The names were not released as it would identify the victims.

 

BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- Richard Sawatis, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on the 19th of November, 2011. He was bound by probation orders with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior and not be within 50 meters of certain person’s residence. It is alleged that on the 19th of November, 2011 he was observed to be at the said person’s residence. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of breach of probation order and released to appear in court on the 6th of December, 2011 to answer to the charges.

 

Cornwall, ON- A 17 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 20th of November, 2011. The youth was bound by a Youth Criminal Justice Act probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to abide by the rules of his residence. It is alleged that on the 20th of November, 2011 a curfew was set in place and the youth failed to return home prior to his curfew. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of breach of probation order and released to appear in court on the 26th of January, 2012 to answer to the charges. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

THEFT UNDER $5000 & ATTEMPT THEFT

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 16 year-old Long Sault youth and a 16 year-old Cornwall youth were arrested on the 20th of November, 2011. It is alleged that the youths were found rummaging through motor vehicle and removing items. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. They were both charged with theft under $5000.00 and attempt theft. They were released to adults to appear in court on the 8th of December, 2011. Their names were not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

 

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating the theft of a 2006 Dodge CTL red in colour from a Sydney Street parking lot between the 11th of November, 2011 and the 17th of November, 2011. If you have any information regarding the theft of this vehicle, please contact the Service by dialling (613) 932-2110.

CHARGES LAID

(South Glengarry) – On 18Nov11, at approximately 9:45pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Boundary Road, South Glengarry Township.

The stop revealed that the 26yr old male driver (Justin RICHER of Cornwall, On) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle
  • Exceed 80mgs / Motor Vehicle

He is scheduled to appear 29Nov11 in Cornwall court.

(North Glengarry) – On 20Nov11, at approximately 2:00am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on County Road 22, North Glengarry Township

The stop revealed that the 36yr old male driver (Alain St-Denis of South Glengarry, On) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Impaired Operation / Motor vehicle
  • Exceed 80mgs / Motor Vehicle

He is scheduled to appear 01Dec11 in Cornwall court.

TRAFFIC STOP NETS DRUGS

(South Glengarry) – On 19Nov11, at approximately 9:30pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on County Road 20, South Glengarry Township.

The stop resulted in the seizure (small amount) of suspected Cannabis resin.

The 25yr old male driver (Simon SCOLLON of Ottawa, On) and his 25yr old male passenger (Adrien BISSON  of Ottawa, On) were arrested and face  charges of:

  • Possession

Both men are scheduled to appear 11Jan12 in Alexandria court.
