THEFT

 

            Cornwall, ON- Joseph Allen Johnson, 45 of Cornwall was arrested on the 21st of December, 2011. It is alleged that on the 4th of October, 2011 he removed money from a 56 year-old acquaintance. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with theft under $5000.00 and released to appear in court on the 17th of January, 2012.

 

WARRANT

 

            Cornwall, ON- Jesse Landriault, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on the 21st of December, 2011 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on the 19th of December, 2011 he failed to attend court and a bench warrant was sought. He attended the police station and was held in custody until court later that day.

 

PUBLIC MISCHEIF

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 28 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on the 21st of December, 2011. It is alleged that on the 4th of September, 2011 she contacted police and reported a domestic assault, mischief and a breach against her 31 year-old boyfriend. On December 15th, 2011, police learned that the allegations were fabricated. She was subsequently charged with 3 counts of public mischief and released to appear in court on the 17th of January, 2012. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF, DRUGS & BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 49 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on the 21st of December, 2011. She was bound by an undertaking with the conditions of abstain from the consumption of alcohol or other intoxicating substances as well as keep the peace and be of good behaviour. She was also bound by a probation order with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 21st of December, 2011 she got into an altercation with her 61 year-old boyfriend when she struck the garage with her motor vehicle. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was located in the possession of what was believed to be marijuana. She was charged with domestic mischief, possession of a controlled substance, 2 counts of breach of undertaking and breach of probation order. She was held in custody until court the following day. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, THREATS & BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 54 year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 21st of December, 2011. He was bound by a probation order with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 21st of December, 2011 he got into an altercation with his 44 year-old girlfriend when he struck her with a bottle and threaten her. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with domestic assault with a weapon, utter threats and breach of probation order. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

ICY ROADS MAKE FOR ADVERSE CONDITIONS

 

(SD&G) – Mother Nature was not in the Holiday spirit on December 21, 2011 as a mix of snow, rain and ice rain fell throughout the United Counties, resulting in adverse road conditions.

SD&G Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a total of twenty-two (22) (Stormont-12, Dundas-2, Glengarry-8) traffic related calls for service on a variety of area roads, from vehicles in ditches to motor vehicle collisions. Fortunately, only minor injuries resulted from three (3) of the collisions.

Police remind motorists to exercise patience and common sense while traveling this Holiday Season.
