DRUG SEARCH WARRANT EXECUTED

 

            Cornwall, ON- Members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Street Crime Unit executed a drug search warrant shortly prior to 6:00 p.m. on the 5th of January, 2012 at a McConnell Avenue residence. As a result of the investigation two people were arrested and charged with 5 drug and criminal code related charges when they were allegedly found to be in possession of controlled substances. Police seized a quantity of substances believed to be cocaine and marijuana. The total value of seized drugs and property is estimated at $2,100.00.

 

Michel Lauzon, 46 of Cornwall was charged with 2 counts of possession of controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking and property obtained by crime. He was released to appear in court on the 24th of January, 2012.

 

Bonnie Julien-Gillis, 41 of Cornwall was charged with possession of a controlled substance. She was released to appear in court on the 24th of January, 2012.

 

MISCHIEF & WARRANT

 

            Cornwall, ON- An 18 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 6th of January, 2012 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that he failed to attend court on the 22nd of December, 2011 and a bench warrant was issued. It is also alleged that on the 5th of January, 2012 he caused damaged at his residence. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The youth was charged with 2 counts of mischief under $5000.00. The youth was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT & BREACHES

Cornwall, ON- A 42 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 7th of January, 2012. He was bound by a probation order with the conditions to not to associate, contact or hold communication directly or indirectly with his 34 year-old ex-girlfriend, not to be within 100 meters of her place of residence, employment or education and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was also bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 6th of January, 2012 he got into an altercation with his 34 year-old ex-girlfriend when her assaulted her. The victim was not injured. The man was charged with domestic assault, 3 counts of breach of probation order and 1 counts of breach of undertaking. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

THEFT

            Cornwall, ON- Michael Colborne, 32 of Cornwall was arrested on the 6th of January, 2012. It is alleged that on the 24th and the 27th of December, 2011, he attended a Second Street East store and removed property without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of theft under $5000.00. He was released to appear in court on the 21st of February, 2012 to answer to the charges.

DOMESTIC BREACHES & HARASSMENT

            Cornwall, ON- A 34 year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 6th of January, 2012. He was bound by a Recognizance with the relevant conditions to not associate or communicate directly or indirectly with his 27 year-old ex-girlfriend, not to attend within 100 meters of her place of residence, employment, any place she may be at, not to be away from my residence except as follows:  in the presence of your surety. He was also bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that between January 2011 and January 2012, the male had continuously contacted with his 27 year-old ex-girlfriend, he broke into her residence in September 2011 and was found to be away from his residence.  Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 6 counts of breach recognizance, criminal harassment, break and enter and breach of undertaking. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

ASSAULT

            Cornwall, ON- Scott Galt, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on the 7th of January, 2012. It is alleged that on the 7th of January, 2012 he assaulted a 32 year-old male acquaintance and a 36 year-old female acquaintance. The victims were not injured. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of assault and released to appear in court on the 2nd of February, 2012.

WARRANT

            Cornwall, ON- Jeffrey Robertson, 38 of Cornwall was arrested on the 7th of January, 2012 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on the 28th of December, 2011 a warrant was sought in Perth, Ontario. He was located by the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division and held in custody until being turned over to the Perth Police Service.

ASSAULT & BREACHES

            Cornwall, ON- A 49 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 8th of January, 2012. He was bound by two undertakings with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 7th of January, 2012 he assaulted his 22 year-old daughter and his 23 year-old daughter. The victim suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of assault and breach of undertaking. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victims.

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigation a theft from a motor vehicle that occurred between the 6rd of January, 2012 and the 7th of January, 2012 at a Alguire Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry to the unlocked vehicle and proceeded to remove an undisclosed amount of money and credit cards from a wallet. TRAFFIC STOP NETS DRUGS


(South Stormont) –  On 07Jan12, at approximately 2:30am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Moulinette Road, South Stormont Township.

The stop resulted in the seizure of approximately 4.5kilograms of suspected marihuana and 5grams of suspected cocaine.

The 40yr old female driver (Monique GARLOUGH of South Stormont) was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Possession Schedule I – Cocaine
  • Trafficking Schedule  II – Marihuana
  • Possession for the Purpose Schedule II

 

She is scheduled to appear 07Feb2012 in Cornwall court.

The approximate street Value of the seized drugs is $22,000:00

 

BREAK AND ENTER


(North Dundas) – On 07Jan12, at approximately 10:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break and enter on Cameron Road, North Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime between 8:00am -10:00am unknown suspects entered a residence and removed various items of electronic equipment and jewellery.

The investigation is ongoing.
