FRAUD

 

            Cornwall, ON- Sylvia Vanvlierberghe, 57 and Thomas Vanvlierberghe, 46, both of Cornwall were arrested on the 17th of February, 2012. It is alleged that between January 2004 and December 2011 they failed to report earned income to a government agency. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. They were charged with fraud over $5000.00 and released to appear in court on the 6th of March, 2012.

 

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

 

            Cornwall, ON- Kyle Staples, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on the 17th of February, 2012. It is alleged that on the 17th of February, 2012 he continuously contacted an unknown 25 year-old female and demanded money. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with criminal harassment and released to appear in court on the 6th of March, 2012.

 

THEFT & BREACH OF PROBATION

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 16 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 17th of February, 2012. She was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 17th of February, 2012 she attended a Brookdale Avenue store and removed property without making any attempt to pay for the item. She was detained by the store’s lost prevention officer and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. She was charged with theft under $5000.00 and breach of probation order. She was released to an adult to appear in court on the 8th of March, 2012. Her name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 31 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on the 17th of February, 2012. It is alleged that she continuously had contact with her 34 year-old ex-common-law husband. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with criminal harassment and released to appear in court on the 28th of February, 2012. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

REFUSAL

 

            Cornwall, ON- Edward McWillians, 31 of Manotick was arrested in the early hours of 18th of February, 2012. It is alleged that he was operating a motor vehicle on Fourth Street while under the influence of alcohol. He refused to provide a sample of his breath and was charged withrefusing to provide a sample of his breath into the approved screening device. He was released to appear in court on the 27th of March, 2012.

 

FAIL TO COMPLY WITH RECOGNIZANCE

 

            Cornwall, ON- Julie Bilotta, 25 of Cornwall was arrested on the 18th of February, 2012 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. She was bound by a recognizance with the relevant conditions to remain at the residence at all times save for medical, counseling or in the company of your surety, as well as must be in the company of your surety at all times, save when attending counseling. It is alleged that on the 15th of January, 2012 she was reported to be away from residence without her surety. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with 4 counts of breach of recognizance and held in custody until court on the 21st of February, 2012.

 

IMPAIRED

 

            Cornwall, ON- Nash Sunday, 22 of Akwesasne was arrested on the 18th of February, 2012. It is alleged that he was operating a motor vehicle on Brookdale Avenue while he was under the influence of alcohol. He was detained by the a member of the Canadian Boarder Service Agency and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. He was charged with over 0.80 and transported for further testing. He was released to appear in court on the 13th of March, 2012.

 

ROBBERY

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a robbery that occurred on the 17th of February, 2012 at approximately 10:00 p.m. at a Subway located on Montreal Road.  The restaurant was robbed by a lone male. The suspect was described as a white male, early 20’s, approximately 5′ 8″ tall, 180lbs, english speaking,  wearing a three quarter length blue winter jacket and black mask. It is reported that the male entered the restaurant and demanded money while holding a syringe. He was travelling on foot.

BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 50 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 18th of February, 2012. He was bound by a recognizance with the conditions of not to communicate directly or indirectly with his 50 –year-old girlfriend except with her written revocable consent , not to attend within 50 meters of her residence except with her written revocable consent, and to abstain from the consumption or the purchase of alcohol.  It is alleged that on the 18th of February, 2012 he was located by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division to be with the said female and it was confirmed that a written consent had not been provided for him to communicate with the female or to attend her residence. He was charged with 3 counts of breach of recognizance and held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identity the female in this incident.

Cornwall, ON- A 17 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 20th of February, 2012. He was bound by two probation order with the relevant conditions to not have any contact with anyone with a criminal record or youth court record and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 20th of February, 2012 he was found by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division to be with someone with a criminal record. He was charged with 2 counts of breach of probation order and released to appear in court on the 4th of April, 2012. His name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ARSON & BREACHES

            Cornwall, ON- A 16 year-old youth and a 17 year-old youth both from Cornwall were arrested on the 18th of February, 2012. The youths both were bound by undertakings with the conditions of abstain from contacting or communicating directly or indirectly with each other and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 18th of February, 2012 they attended an acquaintance’s residence and started a fire in a bedroom. The fire was extinguished and police were contacted. No injuries were reported. Both youth’s were charged with arson and 2 counts of breach of undertaking. They were held in custody until court the following day. The youths names were not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREAK & ENTER, MISCHEIF, BREACHES & OBSTRUCT POLICE

            Cornwall, ON- Jeffrey Leblanc, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on the 18th of February, 2012. He was bound by a probation order with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to notify change of address. It is alleged that on the 18th of February, 2012 he unlawfully gained entry to a residence and damaged property. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He provided a false name to police and did not cooperate. He was charged  with break and enter, mischief under $5000.00, obstruct police and 2 counts of breach of probation order. He was held in custody until court the following day.

BREACH OF CONDITIONAL SENTENCE ORDER

            Cornwall, ON- Christopher King, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on the 20th of February, 2012. He was bound by a conditional sentence order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, abstain from the consumption of alcohol and placed on full house arrest. It is alleged that on the 20th of Febraury, 2012 he attended the police station while being intoxicated. He was charged with breach of conditional sentence order and held in custody until court the following day.

IMPAIRED DRIVING OFFENCES

 

(North Dundas) – On February 17, 2012 at approximately 2:00pm, a male attended the Winchester office of SD&G OPP for administrative purposes. While speaking to an officer, it was detected he was under the influence of alcohol. Reminded of the consequences of driving impaired, he advised he was not. Officers observed the male leave the area driving a vehicle. The vehicle was intercepted a short distance away on St-Lawrence Street in the Village of Winchester.

Michael EATON (37) of North Dundas was arrested and is charged with;

      • Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
      • Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content

 

He is scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on March 06, 2012.

 

(South Glengarry) – On February 19, 2012 at approximately 1:15am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of traffic complaint on County Road 34, South Glengarry Township. The vehicle was intercepted on the noted roadway (south of Green Valley) and it was observed that the male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Emile BEAULNE (54) of Cornwall was arrested and is charged with;

      • Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
      • Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content

 

He is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on March 01, 2012.

 

(North Glengarry) – On February 19, 2012 at approximately 7:15pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a traffic complaint on County Road 20, North Glengarry Township. Officers intercepted the vehicle on the noted roadway (south of Apple Hill) and it was observed the male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Claude BONNEVILLE (48) of North Glengarry was arrested and is charged with;

      • Fail to Provide Breath Sample on Approved Screening Device

He is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on March 01, 2012.

 

DRUGS SEIZED AT R.I.D.E. CHECK

 

(North Stormont) – On February 18, 2012 at approximately 7:45am, SD&G OPP officers conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) had the occasion to check a vehicle at the intersection of County Road 7 & 13. The stop resulted in the seizure of a small amount of suspected marihuana.

The driver, William John TRILLO (51) of North Dundas was arrested and is charged with;

      • Possession of a Controlled Substance

 

He is scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on April 03, 2012.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS IMPOUND VEHICLES

 

(SD&G) – Over the weekend, SD&G OPP officers conducting speed enforcement in the United Counties intercepted the following vehicles, resulting in the seizures of the vehicles and driver licences.

      • February 18, 2012 (11:15am) Vehicle stopped on Highway 401, South Dundas Township for speeding 152km/h in a posted 100km/h zone.

 

      • February 18, 2012 (5:00pm) Vehicle stopped on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township for speeding 156km/h in a posted 100km/h zone.

 

      • February 19, 2012 (4:30pm) Vehicle stopped on Highway 401, South Dundas Township for speeding 152km/h in a posted 100km/h zone.

 

      • February 20, 2012 (3:00pm) Vehicle stopped on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township for speeding 158km/h in a posted 100km/h zone.

 

      • February 21, 2012 (7:30am) Vehicle stopped on Highway 138, North Stormont Township for speeding 131km/h in a posted 80km/h zone.

BREAK-INS/THEFTS

 

(South Glengarry) – On February 17, 2012, SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of a break-in to a vacant residence on 2nd Line Road, South Glengarry Township. Investigation revealed that between 06-17Feb12, a residence was forcibly entered and damage was caused inside the home.

 

(South Dundas) – On February 17, 2012, SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of a break-in to a commercial building on County Road 2, South Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that overnight 16-17Feb12, the building was forcibly entered and a solar panel (approx value $500.00) was removed.

(South Glengarry) – On February 19, 2012, SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of a theft from a motor vehicle while parked at a residence on Bray Road, South Glengarry Township. Overnight 18-19Feb12, the vehicle was entered and a camouflage type jacket was removed.

(North Glengarry) – On February 19, 2012, SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of a theft from business on Main Street North in the Town of Alexandria. Investigation revealed a bench was removed from the deck area.
