The Glass Blowing Place & Chillax Cafe Artist’s Center Opening in Alexandria Ontario – May 19, 2012

CFN – On Saturday, May 19 at 12:00, Grant Crack, MPP (Glengarry–Prescott–Russell) will officiate at The Glass Blowing Place & Chillax Café Grand Opening and Party.

The Glass Blowing Place is an artist’s dream place. It is both a first-class gallery and a learning place for the visual arts. The new gallery space is a venue for regional artists’ creations and is the exclusive sales venue for the output of Glengarry Glass Blowing.


While glass blowing is the principal educational experience offered, but there will also be classes in jewelry making, painting and drawing, stained glass and the lapidary arts.


Glengarry Glass Blowing ( ), the primary artists’ group in residence, is comprised of Canadian masters David Paterson, Chris Van Zanten, Eric Covington and Murano Master Gian Paolo Bastianello. These artists will demonstrate the process of making their stunning glass art during the Grand Opening party on Saturday and Sunday, May 19 and 20.


Other artists, Jenny McBride (wire wrapped jewelry), Julie Laframboise (stained

glass) and Ken McBride (lapidary art) will also demonstrate their art.


Open registration for all courses will be offered at The Glass Blowing Place opening.
