ASSAULT

 

 

Cornwall, ON- A 16 Year old Cornwall female was arrested on the 20th of October 2012. It is alleged that on the 20th of October, she entered a person’s residence to use their phone however refused to leave once the call was completed. Police were contacted and subsequently attended the residence where they attempted to remove the young person. The young person became aggressive and assaulted police. She was charged with unlawfully in a dwelling and assault police (X2) and held in custody until court the following day. The name of the accused is not being released due to provisions in the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

Cornwall, ON- A 15 year old Cornwall male was arrested on the 21st of October 2012. It is alleged that on the 21st of October he got upset and began to throw small items around his residence. In doing so he struck the victim in the arm and broke a window blind. He then assaulted the victim twice by pushing him and striking him with his elbow. Police were contacted and the youth was subsequently charged with assault (X2), assault with a weapon and mischief. He was held in custody until court the following day. The victim did not suffer any injuries. The name of the accused is not being released due to provisions in the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

 

Cornwall, ON- A 41 year old Cornwall male was arrested on the 22nd of October 2012. It is alleged that on the 22nd of October he attended his girlfriend’s residence and got into a verbal argument and assaulted her by pushing her to the ground. Police were contacted and the male was subsequently charged with assault and held in custody until court the following day. The name of the accused is not being released as it may identify the victim in this matter.

 

Cornwall, ON- A 44 year old Cornwall male was arrested on the 20th of October 2012. It is alleged that on the 20th of October he got into an argument with his 42 year old wife and assaulted her by pushing her twice in the span of a few hours. Police were contacted and he was subsequently charged with assault (X2) and held in custody until court the following day. The victim did not suffer any injuries as a result of the assault(s). The name of the accused is not being released as it may identify the victim in this matter.

 

 

 

 

IMPAIRED

 

 

Cornwall, ON- Joseph Quenneville, 57 of Cornwall was arrested on the 20th of October 2012. It is alleged that on the 20th of October he was operating a motor vehicle on Second Street while intoxicated when he struck another vehicle then left the scene of the accident. Police were notified and the male was subsequently charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over .08. He was subsequently released to appear in court on the 8th of November 2012.

 

Cornwall, ON- Michael Carbino, 25 of Cornwall was arrested on the 21st of October 2012. It is alleged that on the 21st of October he was operating a motor vehicle on Ninth Street while intoxicated when he was stopped by police for speeding. He was charged for Impaired Operation of a Motor vehicle and Over.08 and later released to appear in court on the 8th of November 2012.

 

 

 

 

BREACHES

 

 

Cornwall, ON- A 13 year old Cornwall female was arrested on the 21st of October 2012. She was bound by the provisions of a Probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, not to associate with anyone known to have a criminal record and abide by a curfew between 830pm and 6am. She was further bound by the provisions of an Undertaking with the relevant conditions to abstain from communicating directly or indirectly with certain individuals, not attend a certain address, abide by house rules, abide by a curfew between 830pm and 6am and keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 21st of October she left her residence without permission and refused to return. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was later located at an address where she was not to attend with a person she could not have contact with. She was subsequently charged with three counts of breach of undertaking and four counts of breach of probation. She was later released to appear in court on the 29th of November 2012. The name of the accused is not being released due to provisions in the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

 

 

Cornwall, ON- A 28 year old Cornwall male was arrested on the 20th of October 2012. He was bound by the provisions of a Recognizance with the relevant conditions to abstain from communicating directly or indirectly with a certain individual and not be within 100 meters of her residence or place of work. It is alleged that on the 20th of October he was stopped by police while he was driving a motor vehicle with the named person as a passenger. He was charged with breach of recognizance and held in custody until court the following day. The name of the accused is not being released as it may identify the victim in this matter.

 

 

Cornwall, ON- A 22 year old Cornwall male was arrested on the 20th of October 2012. He was bound by the provisions of an Undertaking with the relevant conditions to not have contact with any person under the age of 18 without parents present and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 20th of October he was observed by police to be driving a motor vehicle with a passenger who was under the age of 18. An investigation ensued and he was subsequently charged with two counts of breach of undertaking and held in custody until court the following day. The name of the accused is not being released as it may identify the victim in this matter.

 

 

Cornwall, ON- Christopher Kootoo-Dupuis, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on the 20th of October 2012. He was bound by the provisions of two separate conditional sentence orders both with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 20thof October he attended a Second Street department store where he took merchandise and left the store without paying for the items. He was stopped by the store loss prevention officer who turned him over to police. He was charged with theft under and held in custody until court the following day as a result of his conditional sentence orders.

 

 

BREAK AND ENTER

 

 

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service are currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred between the 20 and 21st of October 2012 at an Adolphus Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry into the residence by forcing open a door and removed an undisclosed amount of money. Cornwall ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service are currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred between the 20 and 21st of October 2012 at a Dunbar Avenue residence. The suspect(s) gained entry into the residence by forcing open a window. Once inside the culprit(s) removed jewelry, a Kobo Vox Tablet and a black purse with Canadian currency. (North Glengarry) – On 20Oct12, at approximately 5:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on County Road 34, North Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that a male was operating a 2003 Chevy van (when for reasons under investigation) he left the roadway and went into the ditch. Further investigation revealed that the van was reported stolen from Grenville-Sur-La Rouge, QC.

The 22yr old male (Jordon MacDonald of Cornwall, On) was located a short time later and arrested, he faces charges of:

– Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
– Fail to Comply – Undertaking Before Officer in Charge
– Dangerous Operation – Motor Vehicle
– Fail to remain at Scene of Accident

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
FAMILY DISPUTE

(South Dundas) – On 21Oct12, at approximately 6:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on County Road 31, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that a 40yr old male was involved in a verbal altercation with another female family member which resulted in the male assaulting her.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault x2

He is scheduled to appear 04Dec12 in Morrisburg court.
DOMESTIC INCIDENT

(North Glengarry) – On 20Oct12, at approximately 1:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on River Road, North Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that a male and his 19yr old girlfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the female assaulting the male.

She was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Assault with A Weapon

She was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
MISCHIEF

(South Glengarry) – On 20Oct12, at approximately 11:00am, SD&G OPP responded to a report of a mischief on Concession 3, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) attended a campground and smashed the windows in a number of outbuildings.

The investigation is ongoing.
