          Cornwall, ON- Ross MacDonald, age 37, of Cornwall was arrested at approximately 7:30 a.m. on May 3rd, 2013. It is alleged that he was found operating a motor vehicle on Cornwall Center Road while under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with Over 80.  He was released to appear in court on May 14th, 2013.

 

Cornwall ON- Tom Redfern, age 55, of Cornwall was arrested at approximately 4:05 p.m. on May 4th , 2013. It is alleged that he was found operating a motor vehicle on Thirteenth Street West while under the influence of alcohol.  An investigation followed and he was subsequently charged with Fail to Provide Breath Sample.  He was released to appear in court on May 14th, 2013.

 

 

CONTROLLED DRUGS AND SUBSTANCES

 

Cornwall, ON- Grant Faulkner, age 20, of Cornwall was arrested on May 3, 2013 for Possession of a controlled Substance believed to be Marijuana, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon.  His arrest was as a result of a vehicle stop by police and subsequent investigation.  He was charged and released to appear in court on June 20, 2013.

 

Cornwall, ON- Members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Street Crime Unit successfully executed a search warrant shortly before 3:00 pm on May 2nd, 2013 at a Marlborough Street residence. As a result of the investigation 2 people were arrested and charged with 8 criminal code offences. It is alleged that they were found in possession of controlled substances. Police seized a quantity controlled substances believed to be marijuana and cocaine. The total value of seized drugs and property is estimated at $5900.

On May 6, 2013, a third person, Ian Lalonde, age 30, of Cornwall turned himself in at Cornwall Police headquarters and was charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.  He was released to appear in court on June 20, 2013.

 

 

ROBBERY AND BREACH PROBATION

 

Cornwall, ON- Derek Perkins, age 27, and Eric Perkins, age 25, both of Cornwall were arrested on May 5, 2013.  Both are bound by Probation orders with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.  It is alleged that on May 2, 2013 they restrained a 32 year old male while they took a sum of cash from his motor vehicle.  Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted.  Derek and Eric Perkins were charged with Robbery and Breach of Probation.  They will appear in court on June 20, 2013.

APRIL TRAFFIC ACTION PLAN RESULTS

 

            Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service would like to thank our community for complying with the April Traffic Action Plan. As a result of the enforcement, members from the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division issued 12 provincial offences tickets in relation to seat belt charges.

(South Stormont) – On 04May13, at approximately 8:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Cherry Ave, South Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 31yr old husband were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Assault

He is scheduled to appear 28May13 in Cornwall court.
(South Dundas) – On 05May13, at approximately 8:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on County Road 7, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 45yr old common-law husband were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male threatening the female.

Further investigation revealed that the male had assaulted the female on a previous occasion.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Utter Threat to Damage Property
– Assault Cause Bodily Harm
– Utter Threat to Cause death or Bodily Harm

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
CHARGES LAID

(South Glengarry) – On 04May13, at approximately 9:00am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township.

The 30yr old male driver of the vehicle provided police with false identification. The male was arrested and faces charges of:

– Obstruct/Resist Peace Officer
– Personation with intent to avoid arrest
– Drive Disqualified

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.

TRAFFIC STOP NETS DRUGS

(South Glengarry) – On 03May13, at approximately 2:00pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on County Road 18, South Glengarry Township.

The stop resulted in the seizure of approximately 48grams of suspected marihuana.

The 19yr old male driver (Tyler BRUNET of Cornwall) and his 17 yr. old male passenger face charges of:

– Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana – over 30 grams
– Possession for the Purpose Schedule Schedule II

The 19yr old male is scheduled to appear 12Jun13 in Cornwall court, the 17yr old male is scheduled to appear 08May13 in Cornwall court.

BREACH OF PORBATION

(South Dundas) – On 04May13, at approximately 2:30pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Dundas Township.

The stop revealed that the 25yr old male driver was breaching his earlier release conditions by being in the company of a female he was not to have any contact with.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Breach of Probation x2

He is scheduled to appear 18Jun13 in Cornwall court.
STOLEN VEHCILE

(South Dundas) – On 04May13, at approximately 6:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a theft on County Road 1, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) attended a compound and removed a 2003 Peterbuilt tractor and trailer.

The investigation is ongoing.
