Cornwall, ON – John Rose, 22 of Morrisburg was arrested on January 12th, 2014 and charged with breaching his probation order for being out past curfew, having consumed alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on January 12th, 2014 the during a traffic stop the man was found to be out past his curfew and found to have been consuming alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on February 17th, 2014.

 

POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY

 

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old youth and a 16-year-old youth both from Cornwall were arrested on January 12th, 2014 and charged with possession of stolen property. It is alleged that on January 12th, 2014 police attended the area of Seventh Street and Gloucester Street for a suspicious persons call. Once in the area they located the two youths who were in possession of items that they removed from parked vehicles. They were taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released with a court date of January 30th, 2014. Their names were not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

(Ottawa) — On Friday, December 27, 2013, a woman in her late 20s who agreed to get into an unknown man’s green vehicle on McArthur Avenue – in the late afternoon, early evening – was driven to an unknown location, possibly in the East end.  The man and woman got out of the vehicle and walked to a wooded area where the man sexually assaulted and choked her. The victim suffered minor injuries.

The woman was able to flee the scene and was later assisted by a man, driving a red van. He picked her up and drove her to the area of Blake Boulevard and Lafontaine Avenue.

The male suspect is described as a white male, in his 40s, with a white beard and long hair and spoke English. He was driving an older model green 4-door vehicle.

The Ottawa Police interviewed the victim this week to gather further information about the suspect.

Investigators would like to speak to the man who assisted the victim. He is a white male with a reddish beard, short curly hair, wearing glasses and was driving a red van at the time.

Man faces five charges in drug-trafficking investigation, Cocaine concealed as chocolate candies

On Thursday, January 9, 2014, the Toronto Drug Squad executed a search warrant at an apartment in the Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West area.

The investigation was conducted with the assistance of the Canada Border Services Agency.

It is alleged that:

– on December 17, 2013, a package was intercepted by the Canada Border Services Agency

– the package contained a quantity of cocaine concealed in chocolate candies

– on January 2, 2014, a second package was intercepted by the Canada Border Services Agency, also containing a quantity of cocaine concealed in chocolate candies

– both packages were destined for Toronto from Colombia

– a search warrant was executed at an address and a further quantity of cocaine as well as cash were seized

Jose Prado Carmona, 37, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. two counts of Unlawfully Import a Schedule 1 Substance
2. two counts of Possession for the Purpose Traffic in Cocaine
3. Possession of Proceeds of Crime (under)

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Friday, January 10, 2014, room 101, 10 a.m.

Homicide #57/2013, Allison Tucker, 2, Maria Sosa, 34, charged with manslaughter

The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of an arrest in connection with Homicide #57/2013.

On Thursday, July 4, 2013, police responded to a tiered-response call in the Wilmington Avenue and Sheppard Avenue West area. Officers found two-year-old Allison Tucker without vital signs. She was taken to hospital by ambulance where she was later pronounced dead.

On Friday, January 10, 2014, police arrested Maria Sosa, 34, of Toronto. She has been charged with:

– manslaughter

She will be appearing in court on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Old City Hall.
