Storm Results in 29 Calls for SD&G #OPP APRIL 7, 2016

STORM RELATED INCIDENTS – RESULTS

(SD&G) – The adverse weather received yesterday (06Apr16) and overnight across the United Counties resulted in several traffic related incidents. Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a total of 29 (Stormont-13, Dundas-8, Glengarry-8) calls for service consisting of collisions (1 fatality) and vehicles in ditches/median.
DRUG SEIZED

(South Glengarry) – On April 6, 2016 at approximately 7:28pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle on Military Road, South Glengarry Township (Lancaster). The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

The male driver, John MACNAUGHTON (35) of South Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams
– Driving While Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)
– Drive Motor Vehicle – No Currently Validated Permit (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and scheduled to appear (drug charge) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on May 11, 2016.
