Food Theft in Cornwall Ontario POLICE BLOTTER April 18, 2016

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Scott Morris, 42 of Cornwall was arrested on April 15th, 2016 and charged with theft under $5000and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 9th, 2016 the man removed a quantity of cheese and steak from a Brookdale Avenue store making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an  investigation ensued. On April 15th, 2016 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER

Cornwall, ON – Edward Steptoe, 36 of Cornwall was arrested on April 15th, 2016 and charged with theft under $5000and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 15th, 2016 the man removed a quantity of cheese from a Second Street East store making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officers and police were contacted to investigate. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Griffin Boland, 18 of Lunenburg was arrested on April 16th, 2016 and charged with impaired operation and over 80. It is alleged on April 16th, 2016 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Montreal Road and McConnell Avenue. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 26th, 2016.

Cornwall, ON – Richard Filella, 25 of Cornwall was arrested on April 16th, 2016 and charged with impaired operation and over 80. It is alleged on April 16th, 2016 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Sydney Street and Fourth Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop and found to be driving while disqualified. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 26th, 2016.

Cornwall, ON – Brittany Cholette, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on April 18th, 2016 and charged with impaired operation and over 80. It is alleged on April 18th, 2016 the woman was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Montreal Road and Anthony Street. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 5th, 2016.

ROBBERY, ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Ingleside man was arrested on April 16th, 2016 and charged with robbery, assault and breach of recognizance for being within 100 meters of his ex-girlfriend and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 12th, 2016 the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence, pushed her and removed property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 17th, 2016 and charged with breach of his youth probation order for having consumed alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 17th, 2016 police attended a noise complaint at a Jase Street address and found the youth in breach of his conditions. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
