Beechwood convenience store robbery suspect to be identified

 

(Ottawa)— The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating a recent convenience store robbery and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible.

On September 17, 2016, at approximately midnight, a lone male suspect entered a convenience store situated along the 1-100 block of Beechwood Ave.  The suspect approached the clerk and indicated he had a gun, though none was seen.  A demand was made for cash.  After obtaining an undisclosed quantity of cash, the suspect fled on foot.  There were no injuries.

The suspect is described as being male, possibly of middle-eastern descent, having a beard and moustache (pinch of facial hair below lower lip), medium build, age 25-35 years.  He was wearing red hooded sweatshirt (hood up), tied under chin with white lace, with a black vest or jacket over the sweatshirt, dark jeans, worn low (jeans possibly torn or with white markings), dark shoes.   1. The man in the picture looks Middle Eastern and can tell by his nose as well as the face. Beechwood Avenue is in Vanier area of Ottawa.
