SD&G OPP Round UP – Stolen Golf Carts in Morrisburg OCT 12, 2016

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(South Glengarry) – On October 11, 2016 at approximately 1:08am, a Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer intercepted a vehicle for a traffic violation on Military Road, South Glengarry Township. A can of beer was also observed being thrown from the vehicle. Investigation indicated that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Andrew DOBSON (33) of Montreal, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired
– Fail or Refuse to Provide a Sample
– Littering
– Red Light – Proceed Before Green

He was released and scheduled to appear (criminal charges) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on November 2, 2016.
DRUGS SEIZED

(North Dundas) – On October 7, 2016 at approximately 9:21pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle on County Road 3, North Dundas Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

The male driver, Jordan MAYER (18) of North Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

He was released and scheduled to appear (criminal charges) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on December 6, 2016.
(South Glengarry) – On October 10, 2016 at approximately 12:47pm, a Highway Safety Division (HSD) officer intercepted a vehicle on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

An adult female passenger, Stephanie PRESBY (30) of Toronto, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on November 2, 2016.
(South Stormont) – On October 8, 2016 at approximately 4:20am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at a property on Bethune Avenue, South Stormont Township (Long Sault). Officers intercepted a male and information revealed that he was in contravention of conditions imposed from previous incidents. Upon his arrest, officers seized quantities of suspected marihuana, cannabis resin and methamphetamine.

Julien LEBLANC (26) of South Stormont Township is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance (3 counts)
– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (2 counts)
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2 counts)

He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
MISCHIEF-ARSON

(South Stormont) – On October 9, 2016 at approximately 2:40am, SD&G OPP officers with assistance of OPP Canine responded to a report of mischief to a building (Long Sault Public School) on Bethune Avenue, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that a window was broken and fire had been set causing minor damage. Two (2) males were observed fleeing the area on foot.

An investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call SD&G OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
THEFT OF GOLF CARTS

(South Dundas) – Overnight (October 9-10, 2016) two (2) golf carts were taken from the Morrisburg Golf Club in South Dundas Township. They are described as;

– White Yamaha with “Morrisburg 04” on front
– White “Club Cart” with mirrors on the side

An investigation continues.
EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(SD&G) – Over the past holiday weekend, SD&G and HSD OPP officers conducting speed measuring enforcement in the United Counties intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. In all stops, the vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– October 7, 2016 – 8:54am (Highway 401-South Glengarry); vehicle stopped travelling 158km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (34) from Montreal, Quebec charged accordingly.

– October 8, 2016 – 2:08pm (Highway 401-South Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 161km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (53) from Hong Kong charged accordingly.

– October 8, 2016 – 10:58pm (Highway 401-South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 165km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (19) from Scarborough, Ontario charged accordingly.

– October 9, 2016 – 3:37pm (County Road 16-North Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 133km/h (80km/h zone). Male driver (30) from South Dundas Township charged accordingly.

– October 10, 2016 – 8:36am (County Road 31-South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 138km/h (80km/h zone). Male driver (60) from South Dundas Township charged accordingly.

– October 10, 2016 – 11:56am (County Road 43-North Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 137km/h (80km/h zone). Female driver (21) from Ottawa, Ontario charged accordingly.

– October 10, 2016 – 2:35pm (Highway 417-North Glengarry); vehicle stopped travelling 171km/h (80km/h zone). Male driver (28) from Quebec charged accordingly.

– October 10, 2016 – 3:59pm (Highway 401-South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 163km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (40) from Laval, Quebec charged accordingly.
