Damaged Headphones & Pushing Lands Cornwall Woman in Jail OCT 20, 2016

ASSAULT, MISCHIEF

 

            Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on October 19th, 2016 and charged with assault and mischief. It is alleged during an argument on October 19th, 2016 the woman pushed her common-law husband and damaged his headphones. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 15th, 2016. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

WARRANT

            Cornwall, ON – Demiteros Papadopoulos, 47 of Orangeville was arrested on October 19th, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on May 10th, 2014 the man attended a local gas bar and fueled his vehicle making no attempt to pay for the fuel as he left the area. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation it was learned the man was disqualified from driving and in breach of his probation order for failing to keep the peace. A warrant was then obtained for his arrest. On October 19th, 2016 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended the Cornwall Courthouse as the man was being held in custody. The warrant was executed and the man remained in custody to await a bail hearing.

 

            Cornwall, ON – Cassandra Hartnett, 34 of Brockville was arrested on October 19th, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman breach her conditional sentence order and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On October 19th, 2016 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on November 15th, 2016.

 

            Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on October 19th, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on September 6th, 2016 and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On October 19th, 2016 the woman was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant during a traffic stop and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as the charges stem from a domestic incident and may identify the victim in the matter.

 

 

UNLAWFULLY IN A DWELLING, BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON – A 56-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 19th, 2016 and charged with unlawfully in a dwelling and breach of probation for communicating with his ex-girlfriend, being within 100meters of her residence and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on October 19th, 2016 the intoxicated man entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence without permission and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

THEFT UNDER, BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON – Mark Goerge, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on October 19th, 2016 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing t keep the peace. It is alleged on October 19th, 2016 the man removed a quantity of clothing from a merchant at the Cornwall Square making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 22nd, 2016.

BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on October 17th, 2016 and charged with breach of recognizance for not attending scheduled meetings and breach of his youth probation order for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during the month of October, 2016 the man failed to attend scheduled meetings and police were contacted to investigate. On October 17th, 2016 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from when the man was a youth and he is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
