BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 21st, 2016 and charged with breach of a prohibition order for having contact with a person under sixteen and breach of probation for failing to notify a change of address and for failing to keep the peace. He was also charged with breach of an order to comply with the Sex Offender Registration Act by not notifying a change of address within seven days. It is alleged the man breached his conditions and police were contacted to investigate. On October 21st, 2016 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released in fear that it would identify the victims in the matter.
Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on October 21st, 2016 and charged with breach of undertaking for failing to abide by house rules, breaching curfew and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the youth breached her conditions and police were contacted to investigate. On October 21st, 2016 the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
MISCHIEF, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON
Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old Cornwall woman and a 19-year-old Cornwall man were arrested on October 21st, 2016. It is alleged during a dispute between neighbours on October 21st, 2016 the woman damaged her neighbour’s door and the man pointed a BB gun at the woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation both were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Their names were not released as it would also identify them as victims.
IMPAIRED, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – Christopher Thompson, 39 of Akwesasne was arrested on October 22nd, 2016 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on October 22nd, 2016 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Cumberland and Third Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 3rd, 2016.
Cornwall, ON – Nessa Prendergast, 41 of Cornwall was arrested on October 23rd, 2016 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on October 23rd, 2016 the woman was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Marleau Avenue when her vehicle went into a ditch. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 3rd, 2016.
