Cell Phone Assault Leads to Charges in Cornwall Ontario OCT 31, 2016

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 28th, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged during an argument on October 14th, 2016 the man pushed his ex-girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation a warrant was obtained for the arrest of the man. On October 28th, 2016 the man was located by police, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Clifford Sunday, 62 of Cornwall was arrested on October 28th, 2016 and charged with driving a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over 80 when he was stopped at the port of entry on October 28th, 2016. Police were contacted, took the man into custody, charged him accordingly and released him to appear in court on November 8th, 2016.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Michelle Fontaine, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on October 29th, 2016 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the woman was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Brookdale Avenue and Ninth Street. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear on court at a later date.

THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 53-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 29th, 2016 and charged with threats. It is alleged on October 28th, 2016 the man threatened to damage his girlfriend’s door and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 29th, 2016 and charged with assault with a weapon. It is alleged during an argument on October 29th, 2016 the man stuck his common-law wife with a cell phone and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on October 30th, 2016 and charged with breach of recognizance for being out past curfew and for not attending school. It is alleged the youth failed to return home on October 26th, 2016 and failed to attend school on October 26thand 27th, 2016. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was located on October 30th, 2016, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Andrew Natos, 54 of Cornwall was arrested on October 30th, 2016 and charged with mischief. It is alleged in the early morning hours of October 30th, 2016 the man punctured a tire on a taxi cab and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 30th, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged during an argument on August 26th, 2016 the man threatened to harm his girlfriend and her mother. Police were contacted to investigate and obtained a warrant for the arrest of the man. On October 30th, 2016 the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victims in the matter.

FRAUD

Cornwall, ON – Pauline Major, 46 of Cornwall was arrested on October 30th, 2016 and charged with 20 counts of fraud under $5000. It is alleged between July, 2016 and September, 2016 the woman defrauded her place of work by making fraudulent returns and pocketing the money while working the cash. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 30th, 2016 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

UNLAWFUL CONFINEMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 30th, 2016 and charged with confinement. It is alleged during an argument on October 30th, 2016 the man pulled his ex-girlfriend into his car and drove away allowing her to exit the car moments later. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
