Human Trafficking Unit charge Ottawa man charged with Sexual Assault
(Ottawa)–On November 17, 2016 the Ottawa Police Service Human Trafficking Unit arrested an Ottawa man for sexual assault and material benefits from sexual services.
Dany JANSSENS, 39 years old of Ottawa is charged with:
- 1 count of Sexual assault
- 2 counts of Obtaining material benefit from sexual services for consideration
A female victim in her 20s came forward on November 1st stating that she was sexually assaulted by the accused while working in his sexual services enterprise which operated out of various hotels in Ottawa. A second female victim, also in her 20s, was identified. She was also involved in the enterprise.
JANSSENS used a Federal Government identification to obtain discounted hotel rates in order to increase profits while operating a sex-based business.
He is scheduled to appear in court on November 18, 2016.
The Human Trafficking Unit believes that there may be other victims.
