Stealing Cigarettes & Assault by Kettle in Cornwall Ontario 081417

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Christina Lafrance, 33 and Jacob Benoit, 18 both of Cornwall were arrested on August 11th, 2017 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on August 11th, 2017 the two entered a Cornwall Square store and removed a quantity of chocolate bars making no attempt to pay for the items as they left the store. Police were contacted and located the two persons in the area of Race Street and Marlborough Street. They were taken into custody and found to be wanted on other investigations. Both were charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 11th, 2017 and charged with breach of recognizance for not residing at a specific address, not being in his residence at all times, communicating with his ex-girlfriend and being within 100 meters of her. He was also charged with breaching four probation orders for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on August 11th, 2017 the man was found to breach of his conditions when he was located at his ex-girlfriend’s residence. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.

Cornwall, ON – Jake Buckshot, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on August 12th, 2017 and charged with breach of undertaking for having consumed alcohol. It is alleged in the early morning hours of August 12th, 2017 the intoxicated man was causing a disturbance in the area of Osborne Avenue and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – John Cook, 38 of Akwesasne was arrested on August 13th, 2017 and charged with breach of recognizance for communicating with certain individuals and being within 500 meters of them. He was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man had contact with two individuals he has conditions not to communicate with and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a b bail hearing.

ROBBERY, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Morgan Watters, 54 of Cornwall was arrested on August 13th, 2017 and charged with robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of undertaking for failing to notify a change of address and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged in the early morning hours of August 13th, 2017 the man took a woman’s cigarettes after striking her and assaulting her with a kettle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Alain Boudrias, 40 of Ottawa was arrested on August 13th, 2017 and charged with breach of recognizance for failing to reside at a specified address and for failing to remain in the city of Ottawa. It is alleged on August 13th, 2017 police attended a Water Street address for an unrelated matter and located the man in breach of his conditions. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
