Kingston Police had 105 calls for service during the 24 hour period starting from 5:00 a.m. on December 12, 2017. Of these, 74 calls occurred in the city central area, 19 in the west end, 3 in the east end, and 1 north of Highway 401. Some of these included:

  • 4 undesirable calls

  • 11 assist citizen calls
  • 2 break and enter calls
  • 11 theft calls
  • 1 shoplifting call
  • 11 motor vehicle collisions
  • 1 impaired driving call
  • 1 parking/vehicle complaint
  • 6 driving complaints
  • 1traffic concern
  • 6 suspicious activity calls
  • 1 drug call

There were 6 individuals arrested within the last 24 hours including 4 men and 2 women, between 17 and 59 years of age, for the following: harassment by threatening conduct, mischief, sexual assault, sexual interference with a person under 16, invitation to sexual touching under 16, sexual exploitation breach undertaking, and breach probation.

Man Charged with Sexually Assaulting Daughter

A 60-year-old local man is facing multiple charges in relation to sexual assault of his teenage daughter.

On December 8, 2017 police were contacted by Family and Children’s service with information of suspected sexual assault. Detectives from the Kingston Police Sexual Assault unit began an investigation and learned the accused had sexually abused the victim on multiple occasions from early 2016 to late 2017. The victim had been afraid to share her story for fear of what might happen to her family.

The accused was located later the same date and arrested. He transported to police headquarters and released on conditions with a future court date.

The accused was charged with sexual assault, sexual interference with a person under 16, invitation to sexual touching under 16, and sexual exploitation.
