The Cornwall Police Service has finally answered a family in distress who took to social media after a young man was hit by a vehicle over ten days ago. No explanation has been given by police for the delay in going public with this incident.
PUBLIC ASSISTANCE
Cornwall, ON – The Cornwall Community Police Service Traffic Unit is currently investigating a matter where a motor vehicle struck a pedestrian and is asking the public to come forward if they have any information about this incident.
Shortly after 9:00 pm on August 14th, 2018, a man was struck by a vehicle on McConnell Avenue, north of the Highway 401 overpass. The vehicle then failed to stop at the scene and fled the area. As a result of being struck, the man was transported to the hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who may have information to contact Cst. Matt Dupuis at (613)933-5000 ext. 2755
If, the information is correct regarding this hit & run, according to the above comments from a relative. The response from CPD is beyond disgraceful & totally unacceptable. Where is our Chief , Deputy, etc, etc ? Perhaps, our ineffective Police Service Board could look into this for the family ? What ever happened to “serve & protect” ? We need an OPP costing fast !
That’s just like CPS, all about sunshine and nothing else.
Cornwall’s keystone cops asking the public’s assistance ten days after this accident instead of getting on the ball of what went on and what color was the vehicle or there may be tracks to know what kind of tires was on the car. Was there any paint from the car that came off somewhere. Did the idiot take the car to the garage and find out if that is what happened. $100K a year for Cornwall’s?
Research??
When the radios were not encrypted they had to release incidents to the public much quicker. Now they have no one to answer to. They love hiding stuff…
