UPDATE ON MISSING PERSON

Cornwall, ON – On November 1st, 2018 the Cornwall Police Service (CPS) released a Missing Person Notice for Brittany Mussgnug. On November 20th, 2018, the woman was successfully located and is no longer missing. The CPS would like to thank the public for their assistance in sharing the Missing Person Notice across social media and aiding us with this investigation.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on November 20th, 2018 and charged with assault. It is alleged on November 14th, 2018, the youth assaulted another youth who was known to him and police were contacted to investigate. On November 20th, 2018, the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

COUNTERFEIT MONEY, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Corry Crowder, 33, of Cornwall was arrested on November 20th, 2018 and charged with uttering counterfeit money x 2 and breach of probation x 2 for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on two separate occasions on November 18th, 2018, the man attended a Montreal Road business and provided the clerk with a counterfeit $100 USD bill on both occasions. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 20th, 2018, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on December 27th, 2018.

POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING COCAINE, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

Cornwall, ON – As a result of an ongoing investigation by the CPS Street Crime Unit, Floyd O’Byrne, 33, and Ashley Cousineau, 28, both of Cornwall, were arrested on November 20th, 2018. Both were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged both individuals were in possession of a quantity of cocaine and Canadian currency on November 20th, 2018 and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man and woman were both taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 18th, 2018.

ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Roger Brault, 67, of Cornwall was arrested on November 21st, 2018 and charged with assault, assault with a weapon and threats. It is alleged on November 15th, 2018, the man assaulted another man known to him, and further threatened him while holding a knife. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 21st, 2018, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.



ROBBERY, BREAK AND ENTER, FORCIBLE ENTRY, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – On November 19th, 2018, the CPS Criminal Investigations Division began investigating an incident where two suspects forcefully entered a victim’s residence, removing electronics and other articles, and left the area shortly thereafter. As a result of the investigation, on November 21st, 2018, Blake Woods, 25, of Ingleside was arrested and charged with the following:

• Robbery
• Break and enter
• Forcible entry
• Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)

The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. At this time, the investigation is still ongoing and public safety is not believed to be a concern.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Natalie White, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on November 21st, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on October 18th, 2018 for fraud charges and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On November 21st, 2018, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Long Sault man was arrested on November 21st, 2018 and charged with the following:

• Assault
• Mischief under $5000
• Breach of undertaking (for contacting his ex-girlfriend and attending her residence)
• Breach of probation (for contacting his ex-girlfriend, attending within 30 metres of her, and failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on November 19th, 2018, the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence, despite his conditions, and assaulted her. The man also allegedly damaged a door within the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 21st, 2018, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
