Cornwall Police Only Disclose 2 Out of 67 Calls for Service 070519 #CCPS #CPS

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on July 4th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged the youth attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and took the youth into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 5th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault, forcible confinement and threats. It is alleged the man assaulted his girlfriend, made threats to harm her, as well as prevented her from leaving the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 5th, 2019, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
