Hubby Biting Wifey Charged with Assault in Cornwall Ontario #CCPS #CPS 072219

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Gregor Mendl, 58, of Cornwall was arrested on July 19th, 2019 and charged with assault. It is alleged the man assaulted a woman he did not know on July 15th, 2019 and police were contacted to investigate. On July 19th, 2019, police located the man and took him into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 22nd, 2019.

REFUSAL, OBSTRUCT

Cornwall, ON – John Logan, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on July 20th, 2019 and charged with refusing to provide a sample of his breath, as well as obstruct police. It is alleged the man falsely identified himself, as well as refused to provide a proper sample of his breath upon demand while stopped by police in the area of Brookdale Avenue and Thirteenth Street. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 30th, 2019.

DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on July 20th, 2019 and charged with two counts of breach of undertaking for contacting and being within 50 metres of her common-law husband. The woman allegedly attended her common-law husband’s residence on July 20th, 2019, despite her conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Kevin Lalonde, 46, of Cornwall was arrested on July 20th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man breached his conditional sentence order and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 20th, 2019, police located the man and took him into custody on the strength of the warrant. The warrant was executed and he was held in custody to await a bail hearing.

ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on July 20th, 2019 and charged with assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged during an altercation with her husband, the woman bit him, causing an injury. Police were contacted and took the woman into custody. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, OBSTRUCT

Cornwall, ON – Jesse Dufresne, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on July 20th, 2019 and charged with possession of property obtained by crime and obstruct police. It is alleged the man was in possession of stolen licence plates and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man attempted to flee from police, however, was located a short time later. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on September 12th, 2019.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on July 21st, 2019 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an argument with her boyfriend, the woman assaulted him and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 21st, 2019 and charged with impaired operation and over 80. He was also charged with five counts of breach of recognizance for contacting his ex-girlfriend, being within 100 metres of her, attending her residence, failing to abide by a curfew, and being outside of his residence with alcohol in his body. It is alleged the man had attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence and police were contacted. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, where it is alleged he was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
