DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 20th, 2019 and charged with breach of undertaking for contacting his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged on August 16th, 2019, the man contacted his ex-girlfriend, despite his conditions, and police were contacted

On August 20th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 20th, 2019 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged the man repeatedly contacted his ex-girlfriend, despite being warned not to by police, and an investigation ensued. On August 20th, 2019, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on September 3rd, 2019. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Brett Benedict, 30, of St. Regis, QC was arrested on August 20th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court in September 2017 for a theft charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On August 20th, 2019, the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on September 12th, 2019.

WARRANT, ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 20th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant for failing to attend court for a domestic offence. The man was also charged with assault, as well as breach of recognizance for contacting his girlfriend, being within 100 metres of her, and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man assaulted a man who was known to him on August 19th, 2019 and police were contacted to investigate. On August 20th, 2019, police located the man who was in the company of his girlfriend, despite his conditions. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
