DOMESTIC ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 46-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 23rd, 2019 and charged with domestic assault, assault with a weapon and threats. It is alleged the man assaulted his wife, as well as threatened to kill her, and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, it was further learned the man had allegedly assaulted her with a chair. On September 23rd, 2019, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Chase Burelle-Menard, 21, of Cornwall was arrested on September 23rd, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the individual failed to attend court on August 22nd, 2019 for a mischief offence and a warrant was issued for arrest. On September 23rd, 2019, the individual attended police headquarters to deal with the matter and was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for bail.

DRUG OFFENCES

Cornwall, ON – Kevin Rice, 48, of Cornwall was arrested on September 23rd, 2019 and charged with the following:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
• Possession of hydromorphone
• Traffic in schedule I substance – cocaine
• Carry concealed weapon
• Breach of prohibition order
• Possession of property obtained by crime
• Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm/ammunition
• Possession of a weapon or a dangerous purpose x 3
• Unauthorized possession of prohibited firearm

As a result of an ongoing investigation by the Street Crime Unit, the man was located on September 23rd, 2019, allegedly trafficking cocaine. He was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine and hydromorphone, as well as a BB gun, knife and bear spray. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Alcide Ceasor, 56, of Cornwall was arrested on September 23rd, 2019 and charged with possession of cocaine. He was also charged with three counts of breach of recognizance for failing to remain in his residence, possessing drugs, and possessing a cell phone. It is alleged the man was observed breaching his conditions and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine and a cell phone. The man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Jason Rivette, 40, of Cornwall was arrested on September 23rd, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on June 14th, 2019, the man took a refrigerator that did not belong to him and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The man was taken into custody during a traffic stop on September 23rd, 2019. The warrant was executed and the man was released to appear in court on October 22nd, 2019.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Douglas MacLeod, 63, of Dalkeith, ON was arrested on September 24th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man had repeatedly contacted a woman known to him, despite being warned not to, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On September 24th, 2019, a member of the Cornwall Police Service assumed custody of the man from the OPP, as he had been arrested on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on October 24th, 2019.

FRAUD UNDER $5000, USE FORGED DOCUMENT

Cornwall, ON – Laurie Roy, 60, of Cornwall was arrested on September 24th, 2019 and charged with fraud over $5000 and use forged document. It is alleged on September 12th, 2019, the woman deposited a forged cheque into her bank account and police were contacted to investigate. On September 24th, 2019 she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 24th, 2019.

DOMESTIC BREACHES

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, both of Cornwall, were arrested on September 24th, 2019 and charged with breach of recognizance for contacting each other. The man was also charged with breach of recognizance for attending the woman’s residence and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged while police were responding to a disturbance call on September 24th, the couple was located in the woman’s residence. Both were taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Their names were not released as it would identify both victims in the matter.
