DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 24th, 2019 and charged with two counts of breach of undertaking for contacting his ex-girlfriend and being within a certain distance of her residence. It is alleged between October 23-24, the man contacted his ex-girlfriend and was within a certain distance of her residence, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Christopher Broome, 44, of Cornwall was arrested on October 24th, 2019 and charged with breach of undertaking. It is alleged on October 16th, the man failed to sign in to police as per his conditions and an investigation ensued. On October 24th, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT X 2, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Maurice Leger, 55, of Cornwall was arrested on October 24th, 2019 and charged with two counts of assault and theft under $5000. It is alleged on October 24th, the man attended a Thirteenth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. While outside of the store, the man assaulted two men he did not know and police were contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 28th, 2019.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on October 24th, 2019 and charged with assault. It is alleged on October 24th, the youth assaulted another youth known to her and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Mariah Major, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on October 23rd, 2019 and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged on September 25th, 2019, Mariah Major and another woman punctured the tires on a vehicle belonging to someone known to them. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 23rd, 2019, Mariah Major attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 28th, 2019.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – James Quinn, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on October 23rd, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on October 20th, the man attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the item as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 23rd, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 19th, 2019.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Millicent Mellon, 19, of Cornwall was arrested on October 23rd, 2019 and charged with assault. It is alleged on October 5th, the woman assaulted a man known to her and police were contacted to investigate. On October 23rd, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 28th, 2019.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Shawn MacNeil, 51, of Cornwall was arrested on October 22nd, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged the man attended a Ninth Street business on May 3rd, 2019 and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the item as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 22nd, 2019, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended the courthouse as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. He was charged accordingly and remained in custody to await a bail hearing.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Vivyen Morin, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on October 22nd, 2019 and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged on September 25th, 2019 the woman punctured the tires on a vehicle belonging to someone known to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 22nd, 2019, she was taken into custody, was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 28th, 2019.

POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, THEFT UNDER $5000 X 2, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jason Larose, 41, of Cornwall was arrested on October 22nd, 2019 and charged with the following:

• Possession of property obtained by crime
• Theft under $5000 x 2
• Breach of recognizance (for failing to keep the peace)
• Breach of undertaking (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on October 22nd, the male was observed removing a package that did not belong to him from a residence in the area of Gardner Avenue. Further investigation revealed the man had also allegedly attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and located the man in possession of the stolen property. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 21st, 2019 and charged with two counts of breach of recognizance for contacting his girlfriend. It is alleged on October 5th and October 21st, the man was in the company of his girlfriend, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. On October 21st, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Joshua Jarvis, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on October 22nd, 2019 and charged with operating a motor vehicle while prohibited, as well as breach of probation for operating a motor vehicle. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited from doing so on October 22nd, 2019. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 3rd, 2019.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Amber Turner, 32, of Cornwall was arrested on October 22nd, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on June 13th, 2019 for a breach offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On October 22nd, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended Morrisburg as the Ontario Provincial Police had the woman in custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on November 28th, 2019.

DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 21st, 2019 and charged with breach of recognizance for contacting his ex-common-law wife. It is alleged on July 31st, 2019, the man attempted to contact his ex-common-law wife, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. On October 21st, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended the courthouse as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 18th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged in May 2017, the man failed to attend court for domestic assault and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On October 18th, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended Montreal as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed and the man was transported to Cornwall to await a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

FRAUD OVER $5000 X 3

Cornwall, ON – As a result of an ongoing investigation by members of the Cornwall Police Service (CPS) Criminal Investigation Division, Street Crime Unit, and Community Patrol Division, Peter Pitsolantis, 43, of Sainte-Marthe-Sur-le-Lac, Quebec was arrested on October 18th and charged with three counts of fraud over $5000.

It is alleged on three occasions throughout the month of October, the man contacted a 94-year-old victim and fraudulently claimed that the victim’s grandchild was in need of money for various reasons. On two occasions, Pitsolantis received large sums of money exceeding $5000. On the third occasion, police were able to locate the man and intervene prior to the victim providing him with an additional quantity of cash. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 28th, 2019.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 18th, 2019 on the strength of multiple warrants. It is alleged during an altercation with his girlfriend on September 29th, 2019, the man assaulted and threatened to kill the woman on two occasions. The man had also allegedly breached his probation and warrants were issued for his arrest. On October 18th, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended Owen Sound as the man was in custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrants. The warrants were executed and the man was transported to Cornwall to await a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 18th, 2019 and charged with two counts of breach of recognizance for contacting his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged on two occasions throughout September and October, the man contacted his ex-girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. On October 18th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – Garry Barstch, 46, of Cornwall was arrested on October 19th, 2019 and charged with breach of undertaking for failing to notify a change of address to police and failing to keep the peace. He was also charged with possession of a Schedule I substance, being cocaine. It is alleged while investigating an unrelated matter on October 19th, police located the man in breach of his conditions. He was taken into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on October 19th, 2019 and charged with assault with a weapon. It is alleged during an argument with her teenaged-daughter, the woman assaulted her with an object and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 14th, 2019. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – Gisele Dumond, 37, of Cornwall was arrested on October 19th, 2019 on the strength of multiple warrants. It is alleged the woman attended a Second Street business on two occasions and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. The woman also allegedly failed to attend court and failed to attend for prints, along with multiple other breach offences and warrants were issued for her arrest. On October 19th, while investigating an unrelated matter, police located the woman and took her into custody on the strength of the warrants. The warrants were executed and the woman was held for a bail hearing.
