Truck Thieving & Shoplifting in Cornwall Ontario #CPS Police Blotter 112119

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 20th, 2019 and charged with break and enter, two counts of threats, as well as domestic mischief. It is alleged during an argument with his girlfriend, the man damaged her phone and a door in the residence, as well as made threats to kill the woman. It is further alleged on November 20th, the man entered a residence without permission and assaulted a man known to him, as well as threatened to kill the man. On November 20th, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 19th, 2019 and charged with two counts of breach of recognizance for contacting his ex-girlfriend and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on November 19th, the man sent text messages to his ex-girlfriend, despite his conditions, and police were contacted. On November 20th, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

Cornwall, ON – The Cornwall Police Service (CPS) is asking for the public’s assistance concerning a stolen vehicle investigation. A white 2017 GMC Sierra 2500hd pickup truck went missing while parked in the area of 691 Brookdale Avenue between November 17th and 18th. The vehicle has a “VC” logo on the passenger doors and is missing the tailgate. The last four digits of the licence plate are 6192.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Bonnie Thompson-Goulet, 48, and Jeffrey Goulet, 53, both of Cornwall, were arrested on November 20th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on November 20th the individuals attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as they left the store. They were stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, they were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 9th, 2020.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Megan Lafave, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on November 19th, 2019 and charged with three counts of breach of undertaking for contacting two certain individuals and being within a certain distance of a particular residence. It is alleged on November 13th, the woman made contact with two individuals known to her, contrary to her conditions, while in the area of one of their residences. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 19th, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
